Frank<\/a><\/p>\n The Federal Communication Commission (FCC) is supposed to protect the public by regulating the telecom industry.\u00a0 They have a LONG history of being a corrupt and\u00a0\u201ccaptured\u201d agency<\/a>\u00a0and they have become brazenly more dangerous during the Trump administration.\u00a0 This includes ignoring 5G warnings and opposition from a growing list of experts including the Department of Defense (see\u00a01<\/a>,\u00a02,<\/a>\u00a03<\/a>,\u00a04<\/a>) who has been saying since LAST YEAR that 5G is a HUGE threat to national security.\u00a0 Some Congress members have\u00a0finally stepped in<\/a>\u00a0and now there\u2019s going to be a hearing.<\/p>\n From\u00a05G Crisis<\/a>:<\/p>\n On April 19th, the FCC\u00a0granted<\/a>\u00a0Ligado Networks LLC\u2019s (Ligado\u2019s) mobile satellite services (MSS) license modification applications, allowing the company to deploy a low-power terrestrial nationwide network in the 1526-1536 MHz, 1627.5- 1637.5 MHz, and 1646.5-1656.5 MHz bands to facilitate Internet of Things (IoT) services and 5G.<\/p>\n As senators reconvene on the Hill, the Armed Services Committee will hold an in-person hearing tomorrow, May 6th, to discuss Ligado\u2019s contentious 5G plan which the FCC approved despite the Pentagon\u2019s concerns that the service could disrupt the nation\u2019s GPS signals.<\/p>\n Chairman of the Armed Services Committee, Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), said last month, \u201cWhen people try to push bad policy through in the middle of a crisis, without much coordination with seemingly anyone else, it makes me wonder about their motives.\u201d<\/p>\n The FCC and Ligado will likely not be testifying as both parties deny that GIS disturbances would arise from Ligado\u2019s planned network.<\/p>\n To view the agenda for tomorrow\u2019s hearing, click\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The FCC is actually using the pandemic as an excuse to speed up 5G installation (see\u00a01<\/a>,\u00a02<\/a>.\u00a03<\/a>,\u00a04<\/a>,\u00a05<\/a>).\u00a0 This includes launching tens of thousands of satellites with millions of antennas to blast 5G and WiFi at us from space (see\u00a01<\/a>,\u00a02<\/a>,\u00a03<\/a>).\u00a0 Lawsuits have been filed against them for\u00a0NOT protecting Americans<\/a>\u00a0from unsafe levels of radiation (see\u00a01<\/a>,\u00a02<\/a>) and 5G (see\u00a01<\/a>.\u00a02<\/a>,\u00a03<\/a>).<\/p>\n 5G opposition in the U.S. and worldwide continues to grow because of risks to biological health (see\u00a01<\/a>,\u00a02<\/a>,\u00a03<\/a>,\u00a04<\/a>,\u00a05<\/a>,\u00a06<\/a>), cybersecurity (see\u00a01<\/a>,\u00a02<\/a>), environmental health (see\u00a01<\/a>,\u00a02<\/a>,\u00a03<\/a>,\u00a04<\/a>), privacy (see\u00a01<\/a>,\u00a02<\/a>), and more.\u00a0 Many cities and countries have taken action including\u00a0banning it<\/a>, issuing moratoriums, passing ordinances, etc. (see\u00a01<\/a>,\u00a02<\/a>).<\/p>\n Somebody drain this damn swamp already.<\/p>\n
