Elon Musk Unveils Twitter Censorship Machine in 2020<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Twitter<\/a>\u2019s new owner\u00a0Elon Musk<\/a>\u00a0and independent journalist Matt Taibbi\u00a0on Friday unveiled what drove former Twitter executives to suppress the New York Post\u2019s\u00a0Hunter Biden<\/a>\u00a0laptop story in the weeks leading up to the 2020 presidential election.<\/p>\n

Dubbed \u201cThe Twitter Files,\u201d Taibbi published his reporting in a thread on his Twitter account, which he said was based on \u201cthousands of internal documents obtained by sources\u201d from the social media platform.<\/p>\n

The tweets\u00a0contained communications amongst Twitter employees as they grappled with how to excuse their decision to censor the Hunter Biden report.<\/p>\n

Musk, who has championed transparency at the company he took over in October, retweeted Taibbi\u2019s thread, and\u00a0questioned<\/a>\u00a0whether some of the revelations indicated potential violations of the First Amendment.<\/p>\n
