Andrew Cuomo\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20200407103413\/https:\/\/coronavirus.health.ny.gov\/system\/files\/documents\/2020\/03\/doh_covid19-_nhadmissionsreadmissions_-032520.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">March 25 order<\/a>\u00a0requiring nursing homes to take in COVID-19 patients from the state health department website\u00a0\u2014 even as Cuomo\u2019s office insists\u00a0that the order, which\u00a0has been\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/4042f05613ee4259b7a44d4466a0a02a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">linked<\/a>\u00a0to thousands of nursing home deaths, remains in effect.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/coronavirus.health.ny.gov\/system\/files\/documents\/2020\/03\/doh_covid19-_nhadmissionsreadmissions_-032520.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">web page that once contained the order<\/a>\u00a0now directs to a page indicating that the file is \u201cnot found.\u201d The archive indicates that the deletion occurred sometime after May 5, around the time that criticism over New York\u2019s nursing home fatalities intensified.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-17\">\n<div id=\"abta3776571\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"ld-8010-1708\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/lockerdome.com\/lad\/10165223504200806?pubid=ld-8010-1708&amp;pubo=https%3A%2F%2Ftruepundit.com&amp;rid=talk.zerohedge.com&amp;width=670\" width=\"550\" height=\"440\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" seamless=\"\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>A\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20200407103413\/https:\/\/coronavirus.health.ny.gov\/system\/files\/documents\/2020\/03\/doh_covid19-_nhadmissionsreadmissions_-032520.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">copy of the page<\/a>\u00a0saved by the Internet archive Wayback Machine, however, shows that Cuomo\u2019s order stated: \u201cNo resident shall be denied readmission or admission to the NH solely based on a confirmed or suspected diagnosis of COVID-19. NHs \u00a0are prohibited from requiring a hospitalized resident who is determined medically stable to be tested for COVID-19 prior to admission or readmission.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On May 10, Cuomo\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/with-lockdown-order-set-to-expire-within-days-cuomo-touts-new-yorks-dramatic-decline-in-deaths-hospitalizations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">issued a new directive<\/a>\u00a0stating that hospitals cannot send patients back to nursing homes in the state unless they tested negative for the virus. The move appeared to largely invalidate the March 25 directive.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-25\">\n<div id=\"ld-156-5231\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/lockerdome.com\/lad\/12870212764785254?pubid=ld-156-5231&amp;pubo=https%3A%2F%2Ftruepundit.com&amp;rid=talk.zerohedge.com&amp;width=670\" width=\"550\" height=\"440\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" seamless=\"\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>However, senior Cuomo communications director Peter Ajemian insisted in an email to Fox News that it was \u201cnot accurate\u201d to state that Cuomo had \u201creversed\u201d\u00a0the March 25 order.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe didn\u2019t reverse or rescind anything,\u201d Ajemian wrote at the time. \u201cThe order is still in effect. He did add a directive, this one directed at hospitals, saying they must test patients and the patients must be negative before being sent back to a nursing home.
