Gavin Newsom&#8217;s desk.<\/h3>\n<h3><strong>The bill,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/leginfo.legislature.ca.gov\/faces\/billVersionsCompareClient.xhtml?bill_id=202320240AB957\">AB 957<\/a>, incorporates parents&#8217; &#8220;affirmation of the child\u2019s gender identity or gender expression&#8221; into the concept of a child&#8217;s &#8220;health, safety, and welfare.&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0If passed,<strong>\u00a0the bill will require a judge to consider whether a parent affirms a child&#8217;s ideas about gender transition when determining custody or visitation rights.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3>&#8220;This bill is a wolf in sheep\u2019s clothing,&#8221; Mr. Musk\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1700297475628871719?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1700297475628871719%7Ctwgr%5Ec70a487764f955bd42a80894f7a2712c83465551%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thedailybeast.com%2Felon-musk-slams-california-bill-aimed-at-protecting-trans-kids\">wrote<\/a>\u00a0on Friday on X, formerly called Twitter. &#8220;<strong>What it would actually mean is that if you disagree with the other parent about sterilizing your child, you lose custody.
