Renee Parsons<\/span><\/p>\n As Congress wrestles with the potential of the greatest financial calamity in American history about to occur, House RINO Republicans continue to deny reality as if numbers lie and can be easily manipulated to reflect their political ideology.<\/p>\n As an offshoot of the No Labels<\/span><\/a>\u00a0political party which was created in 2014 by former Sen. Joe Lieberman (Conn.),\u00a0 <\/span>the House of Representatives formed a Problem Solvers Caucus in 2017.\u00a0 <\/span>The PSC describes itself as a member-sponsored caucus with S<\/span>ixty<\/a> evenly divided bipartisan Members who are \u201c<\/span>committed to finding common ground on many of the key issues facing the nation.\u201d<\/i><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n Of the thirty Republican Members on the PSC, approximately a dozen are from Red states.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n While the NL has claimed that \u201cseveral of whom have been so conspicuously courageous, that No Labels has mobilized our entire national community to support them in their campaigns\u201d t<\/i>here are no details as to who those PSC Members are or under what circumstances their courage was conspicuous.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n While the NL\u2019s role on the national political scene appears non-existent, its website which offers no mention of foreign policy says it is currently planning\u00a0<\/span> \u201c<\/b>to run<\/i><\/span> a Unity ticket for president if the two major parties select candidates the vast majority of Americans don\u2019t want to vote for in 2024<\/i>\u201d:\u00a0 <\/span><\/b>all of which sounds like a RINO strategy or akin with the infamous Uniparty.<\/span><\/p>\n Although with no comparable Senate PSC, the NL group appears to have formed a Senate-House PSC alliance ensconced with a \u201cbicameral meeting proces<\/i>s\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>that is \u201cconducted regularly via Zoom<\/i>\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>and therefore ,have assumed a leadership role over the PSC, providing them with\u00a0 <\/span>\u2018guidance\u2019 on policy issues such as the disagreements regarding the debt ceiling debate and especially how to meet the September 30th<\/sup> deadline and a potential government shutdown.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Meanwhile, the PSC has offered a complicated, bipartisan framewor<\/span><\/a>k to avoid a government shutdown that continues federal funding levels as adopted in the Fiscal Responsibility Ac<\/span><\/a>t of 2023, otherwise known as the Biden budget.\u00a0 <\/span>Therefore, the PSC proposal falls way short of covering a 2024\u00a0 <\/span>deficit of $1.5 Trillion on top of an annual interest payment on the $33 Trillion national debt of $1.6 Trillion. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Most importantly, a review of\u00a0 <\/span>US debt history<\/span><\/a> reveals a not surprising correlation to US pursuit of war, as if a constant war strategy would benefit its national economy. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n 1900 $ \u00a0 <\/span>2.14 Billion\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n 1909 $ \u00a0 <\/span>2.64 Billion<\/p>\n 1919 $\u00a0 <\/span>27.39 Billion \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>WWI \u00a0 <\/span>1914-1918<\/p>\n 1939 $777.62 Billion\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>WWII\u00a0 <\/span>1939 \u2013 1945<\/p>\n 1949 $\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>2.07 Trillion \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Korean War\u00a0 <\/span>1950 – 1953<\/p>\n 1959 $\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>2.05 Trillion<\/p>\n 1979 $378.00 Billion\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Last non-Omnibus Congressional Budget<\/p>\n 1984 $\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>3.89 Trillion\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n 1999 $\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>8.72 Trillion \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Afghanistan War 2001 \u2013 2021<\/p>\n 2004 $\u00a0 <\/span>10.04 Trillion \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Iraq War 2003 \u2013 2014<\/p>\n 2009 $\u00a0 <\/span>14.27 Trillion<\/p>\n 2014 $\u00a0 <\/span>19.25 Trillion<\/p>\n 2019 $\u00a0 <\/span>22.84 Trillion<\/p>\n 2022 – Ukraine War Added $118 Billion to Federal Debt<\/p>\n 2023 $\u00a0 <\/span>33,044,858,730,468.04\u00a0 <\/span>Trillion<\/a> : Current Debt\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Renee Parsons\u00a0served on the ACLU\u2019s Florida State Board of Directors and as president of the ACLU Treasure Coast Chapter.
