class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">During a recent House Judiciary Committee hearing entitled <a href=\"https:\/\/house.us12.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=0275399506e2bdd8fe2012b77&amp;id=f06220b3c7&amp;e=c2946bbaa7\"><span class=\"s2\">Free Speech on College Campuses<\/span><\/a><\/span><span class=\"s2\">, <\/span><span class=\"s3\">&#8221; the inescapable question arose about why the Committee was neglecting far more essential national predicaments than the whimpering of<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>three college students kvetching about hurt feelings that may impact 2% of the US population. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">Committee Chair Jim Jordan showed a brief video that outlined on-campus censorship, the heckling of conservatives that coincidentally included anti-semitism on campus.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Turns out that the true topic of the hearing was more directly focused on the <\/span><span class=\"s4\">\u201c<i>rise in antisemitism, anti-Israel\u00a0sentiment, and <\/i><\/span><span class=\"s5\"><i>violence<\/i><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><i> towards students supporting Israel.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">This is not to suggest that harassment or threats or violations of the First Amendment are ever acceptable except that sometimes we all just have to live with disagreement, accept differences of opinion and get on with life.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">Jordan spoke from notes since there was no prepared testimony and introduced the topic citing<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>\u2018<i>hostility to conservative points of view has only grown worse\u2019<\/i><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>until it became clear he was really referring to:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s3\">\u201c<i>with safe spaces and free speech zones aimed to protect students from violence,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>one would think Jewish students would have somewhere to turn as <\/i><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><i>violent pro Hamas<\/i><\/span><span class=\"s3\"><i> students take to their demonstrations and <\/i><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><i>have harmed<\/i><\/span><span class=\"s3\"><i> students on college campuses<\/i>. <i>Nearly a 400% increase in anti semitic incidents including harassment, vandalism and assault in attacks in the two weeks after the Hamas attack against Israel.\u201d<\/i><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">In addition, Jordan cited a recently re<i>l<\/i>eased Committee report regarding<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/judiciary.house.gov\/media\/press-releases\/new-report-details-how-federal-government-partnered-universities-censor\"><span class=\"s2\">Big Government, Big Academia, Big Tech all colluding<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>to limit American\u2019s First Amendment free speech rights\u201d<\/span><\/a> as if there was some tacit inference connecting<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>anti-semitic rhetoric with American universities and the Federal government attempts at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ca5.uscourts.gov\/opinions\/pub\/23\/23-30445-CV0.pdf\"><span class=\"s2\">censorship<\/span><\/a>. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">As testimony continued, there were no specific examples of \u2018violent\u2019 pro Hamas students harming other students.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Throughout the hearing, supporters of the Palestinian people momentarily disrupted testimony with \u201c<i>Free Palestine<\/i>\u201d and \u201c<i>Ceasefire in Gaza<\/i>\u201d with no reference to anything remotely anti-semitic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">There was a curious, palpable mix of \u2018conservative\u2019 ideology with \u2018anti semitic\u2019 as if the Republican party is now enthrall with Zionism and <a href=\"https:\/\/judiciary.house.gov\/committee-activity\/hearings\/free-speech-college-campuses-1\"><span class=\"s2\">college students<\/span><\/a> as AIPAC or ADL fingerprints are all over why this hearing was given such premiere treatment when Judiciary had<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>more pressing topics to address.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">Finally, the \u2018<i>inherent tension\u2019<\/i> found in the majority of testimony as constitutionally-protected speech should satisfy most objections, however, anti-semitism is frequently weaponized as a special caveat for discrimination or as a <\/span><span class=\"s4\">tool to condone Zionism for unacceptable behavior contrary to how God\u2019s Chosen People would behave.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\"> ***<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">While the Judiciary Committee was tinkering with anti-semitism as a national tribulation, there remains an exceptional Russiagate leftover involving fifty one intel\/national security officials who were<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>intent on destroying Trump\u2019s 2020 re-election and is yet awaiting issuance of subpoenas to be resolved by the Judiciary Committee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">One indication of the Democrats unique ability to create shrewd unexpected ploys in their attempt<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>to destroy Trump\u2019s credibility began after the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/10\/14\/email-reveals-how-hunter-biden-introduced-ukrainian-biz-man-to-dad\/\"><span class=\"s2\">NY Post<\/span><\/a> published a story on October 14 , 2020 revealing the now infamous<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/10\/Front-cover.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;ssl=1\"><span class=\"s2\">Hunter Biden\u2019s laptop<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><span class=\"s7\"> to an unsuspecting world. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The Post reported that Hunter had <\/span><span class=\"s3\">introduced then vice President Joe Biden to officials at Burisma Energy<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>in Ukraine which led to a series of unsavory<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>revelations about a politically corrupt family which continues to unfold. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">Not known at the time was how urgently the Post story elicited an immediate response from the Biden campaign to offset the laptop with creation of an October Surprise. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>On October 19<\/span><span class=\"s8\"><sup>th<\/sup><\/span><span class=\"s3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>an ever-acquiescent Politico released a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/f\/?id=00000175-4393-d7aa-af77-579f9b330000\"><span class=\"s2\"><i>Public Statement on Hunter Biden Emails\u2019<\/i><\/span><\/a> signed by fifty one national security-intel officials identifying their impressive background as professional, seasoned veterans of the US national security state swearing their oath that Russia was attempting to influence the 2020 election. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">What is especially noteworthy besides the controversial detailed content of the Public Statement is the process and speed by which the Biden response generated a lengthy authoritative<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>composition, circulated and signed by fifty one<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>officials and published a mere five days after the Post story.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Republicans could never move like that. Three days later on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/elections\/2020\/10\/23\/debate-transcript-trump-biden-final-presidential-debate-nashville\/3740152001\/\"><span class=\"s2\">October 22nd<\/span><\/a>, Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden referred to the Public Statement in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2020\/10\/22\/925520323\/watch-live-final-trump-biden-presidential-debate\"><span class=\"s2\">debate<\/span><\/a> with President Donald Trump; thereby sowing the seeds of<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>a compromised Trump in cahoots with Russian President Valdimir Putin and Russian intrusion into the 2020 campaign.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">It was not until the Republicans won narrow control of the House in 2022 that the Judiciary Committee was able to proceed posthaste to investigate the origins and identify participants of the Public Statement.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">On April 20<\/span><span class=\"s8\"><sup>th<\/sup><\/span><span class=\"s3\">, Judiciary Chair Rep. Jim Jordan and Rep. Mike Turner, Chair of the Select Committee on Intelligence sent a letter to <a href=\"https:\/\/judiciary.house.gov\/sites\/evo-subsites\/republicans-judiciary.house.gov\/files\/evo-media-document\/2023-04-20-jdj-mt-to-blinken-re-public-statement-on-hunter-biden-emails_0.pdf\"><span class=\"s2\">Secretary of State Antony Blinken<\/span><\/a> who had been identified, as a Biden campaign official, as instigator of the Public Statement strategy.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Jordan\/Turner were soliciting documents and naively expecting Blinken\u2019s cooperation in determining his role in the Public Statement which was not forthcoming. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Requesting a<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>response to the Committees<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>by May 4<\/span><span class=\"s8\"><sup>th<\/sup><\/span><span class=\"s3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>citing that Public Statement events occurred prior to Blinken\u2019s appointment as Secretary of State, there was no response from Blinken.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">On May 10, 2023, the Judiciary Committee\u2019s Weaponization of the Federal Government subcommittee and Select Committee on Intelligence published an \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/judiciary.house.gov\/sites\/evo-subsites\/judiciary.house.gov\/files\/evo-media-document\/2023-05-10_the_hunter_biden_statement_how_senior_intelligence_community_officials_and_the_biden_campaign_worked_to_mislead_american_voters-sm.pdf\"><span class=\"s2\">interim\u2019 Joint Staff Report<\/span><\/a> update which indicates <\/span><span class=\"s6\">no final resolution or threat to the intel officials who abused and politicized their positions<\/span><span class=\"s3\">. The report<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>confirmed that the CIA was also uncooperative and failed to produce requested information.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">On May 16, 2023, Jordan\/Turner wrote a <a href=\"https:\/\/judiciary.house.gov\/sites\/evo-subsites\/republicans-judiciary.house.gov\/files\/evo-media-document\/2023-05-16-mt-jdj-to-burns-cia-re-production-agreement.pdf\"><span class=\"s2\">second letter<\/span><\/a> to CIA Director William Burns regarding documents confirming CIA staff participation in creation and publication of the Public Statement.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The letter gave Burns until May 30, 2023 to produce the documents or the Committee <i>may resort<\/i> to \u2018<i>compulsory process<\/i>.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s9\">On June 12, 2023, Jordan\/Turner <a href=\"https:\/\/judiciary.house.gov\/sites\/evo-subsites\/republicans-judiciary.house.gov\/files\/evo-media-document\/2023-06-12-jdj-mt-to-blinken-re-follow-up.pdf\"><span class=\"s2\">followed up<\/span><\/a> on the Blinken role with attorney Jonathon Su as Jordan reiterated Blinken\u2019s leadership in creation of the Public Statement and his continued unresponsiveness and refusal to cooperate. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s3\"> In conclusion, the best Jordan\/Turner could muster was \u201c<i>We respectfully request that you produce this material as soon as possible but no later than 5:00 p.m. on June 26, 2023. The Committees may consider the use of compulsory process if these requests remain outstanding beyond that date.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\"><span class=\"s3\">On June 26, Jonathon Su <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/655790825\/Blinken-to-Jordan-Turner?secret_password=PoLrFD8Wuoyh2fghJ9pO\"><span class=\"s10\">responded<\/span><\/a> to Jordan\/Turner firmly asserting that as a private citizen at the time, Blinken denied any role in creation of the Public Statement. <i><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\"><span class=\"s11\">As of June 27, Chair Jordan had a bit of a temper tantrum since Blinken continued to \u2018<i>deflect<\/i>\u2019 and warned that \u201c<\/span><span class=\"s12\"><i>Congress should be ready to use all available options to get to the truth;\u201d<\/i><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>presumably referring to<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>issuance of subpoenas or threatening contempt of Congress.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>That was then and this is now.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\"><span class=\"s12\"> ***<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">In what was clearly a domestic disinformation campaign of subversion including official government participation on the politicization of a partisan Presidential campaign, there is a direct bearing, cause and effect, on today\u2019s disastrous disintegration of the country with a lack of administrative leadership, as if a foreign entity unrepresentative of American values and principles had usurped the White House and entire Federal government structure. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">It would appear that no \u2018<i>compulsory process\u2019<\/i> has occurred as all participants in the Public Statement carry no stigma of<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>having<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>crossed a professional, a legal, a Constitutional or an ethical line, adding their names in an obvious partisan effort to influence the outcome of the 2020 Presidential<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>election \u2013 but especially, all signatories were aware that they had signed onto a Statement that <b>everyone knew was a lie<\/b>, <b>a blatant piece of invented propaganda and yet there are no consequences<\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">With no<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>\u2018compulsory process\u2019 ever<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>in the works,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>clearly a Congressional Committee follow up of a subpoena or Contempt of Congress threat are nothing to be feared as satisfying \u2018anti-semitic\u2019 tropes are more essential to a Zionist Congress.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"p4\"><em><span class=\"s3\">Renee Parsons\u00a0served on the ACLU\u2019s Florida State Board of Directors and as president of the ACLU Treasure Coast Chapter.
