{"id":235448,"date":"2024-06-27T10:21:55","date_gmt":"2024-06-27T14:21:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=235448"},"modified":"2024-06-27T10:23:46","modified_gmt":"2024-06-27T14:23:46","slug":"colorado-primary-elects-two-new-rino-uniparty-house-members","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=235448","title":{"rendered":"Colorado Primary Elects Two New RINO Uniparty House Members"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more-->Renee Parsons<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">There are essential take-aways for Colorado\u2019s America First (AF) faction after two <\/span><span class=\"s2\">significant Congressional District<\/span><span class=\"s1\"> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.durangoherald.com\/\"><span class=\"s2\">losses in its GOP<\/span><\/a> primary:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>the first Aha moment is that the RINO Uniparty faction rules the state\u2019s GOP constituents along with <a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/6253038\/koch-brothers-trump-gop-nomination\/\"><span class=\"s2\">Americans for Prosperity<\/span><\/a> (AFP) and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rmvpac.org\/\"><span class=\"s2\">Rocky Mountain Values PAC<\/span><\/a>, (RMV). <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">As a politically lethal combination of Never Trumpers, these big time players easily influenced a significant portion of the GOP rank n file voter base as they take credit for the losses. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Their Colorado supporters were responsible for initiating the Fourteenth Amendment lawsuit to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/2024-election\/six-colorado-voters-file-lawsuit-remove-trump-2024-ballot-rcna103660\"><span class=\"s2\">remove Donald J. Trump<\/span><\/a> from the state\u2019s Presidential ballot which was unanimously denied by the Supreme Court.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>The second Aha is that, despite the Third and Fifth CD\u2019s both considered as <a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/Ballotpedia:Battlegrounds\"><span class=\"s2\">Battleground<\/span><\/a> elections, GOP activists appear to be lacking in a political savvy that should be ingrained in every thinking, voting American.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>It might be assumed that a majority of Republican voters support the America First movement as well as reform of the House of Representatives to reject its RINO-Uniparty domination.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>When it came to practicing what they preach; that is voting to create the reality of an AF House of Representatives, Colorado\u2019s Republican voters blew it.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">From the outset of the race for the Third Congressional District, it was clear that six aspirants created a field of surplus candidates especially with four not-ready-for-prime-time (NRFPT) contestants with <a href=\"https:\/\/coloradosun.com\/2024\/06\/04\/republican-candidates-colorado-3rd-congressional-district-issues\/\"><span class=\"s2\">no practical political<\/span><\/a> experience. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>While across the political aisle, Mayor Ana Stout of Grand Junction <a href=\"https:\/\/coloradosun.com\/2024\/01\/31\/anna-stout-colorado-congressional-race-adam-frisch\/\"><span class=\"s2\">withdrew from the Democratic primary<\/span><\/a> to clear the field for Democrat Adam Frisch.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>But then County and State Democrats win elections while Republicans misread the tea leaves and undermine their own efforts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Third Congressional District is the state\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Colorado%2527s_3rd_congressional_district#\/map\/0\"><span class=\"s2\">geographically largest CD<\/span><\/a> with twenty nine of the state\u2019s sixty four counties containing half the state\u2019s land mass.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The District includes Colorado\u2019s western slope, a portion of the Eastern Plains, giant swaths of agricultural and public lands and the cities of Pueblo, Grand Junction, Aspen, Durango, Glenwood Springs and Ignacio. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In other words, anyone who aspires to campaign and win in the Third District needs to be \u2018on the road\u2019 extensively which requires time, energy and deep pockets or have a state-wide constituency already in place.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>It is elementary that any candidate limited to one\u2019s own county or local geography cannot expect to win without a substantial statewide base.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Therefore, those four previously mentioned NRFPT waged a hopeless campaign as none ever showed any sign of winning as the final election results proved.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">To be clear, some of these candidates were well aware they had no chance of winning a District wide contest; albeit refused to withdraw up to the bitter end, thereby assuring a divisive GOP as well as a contentious primary victory.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The candidate surplus became an obvious detriment when one of the six was revealed to be supported by the Democrats, the AFP and the RMV and a philosophic member of the RINO Uniparty wing of the GOP.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>As the campaign progressed, the anti-America First crowd contributed deep pockets to Jeff Hurd while the same political forces waged a malicious and staged a deliberately confused campaign against Ron Hanks.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">From the beginning, Ron Hanks, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cpr.org\/2024\/06\/03\/vg-2024-colorado-primary-elections-congressional-district-3-candidate-ron-hanks\/\"><span class=\"s2\">32 year Air Force<\/span><\/a> vet with hefty national security bona fides and former State House member who was present at J6 (but not indicted) was a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RonHanksCD3\/status\/1800646932462715361\"><span class=\"s2\">clear favorite <\/span><\/a>and endorsed by the State GOP.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Even the RMV Voter Guide, which was devoted solely to denouncing Hanks, admitted that \u201c<i>Jeff Hurd and Ron Hanks are two of the top candidates in the race.<\/i>\u201d <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Dem-dark money RMV spent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/colorado\/news\/colorado-democrats-spend-500k-ads-boosting-republican-election-denier\/\"><span class=\"s2\">$500,000 to defeat<\/span><\/a> election-denier Hanks claiming he would be the \u201c<i>easiest candidate<\/i>\u201d to beat in November \u2013 which defies logic.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>When is campaign money ever spent to defeat the \u2018easy\u2019 candidate?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">On one hand, Hanks was accused of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coloradopolitics.com\/elections\/2024\/national-republicans-attack-ron-hanks-blast-adam-frisch-for-meddling-in-colorados-3rd-cd-gop\/article_b5ca6d52-2d8d-11ef-b509-1b726e78a691.html\"><span class=\"s2\"><i>no wonder liberals love him<\/i><\/span><\/a>\u201d while on the other, he was blamed for being \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wjbf.com\/hill-politics\/colorado-democrats-elevate-divisive-gop-candidate-in-race-for-boebert-seat\/\"><span class=\"s2\"><i>too conservative\u2019<\/i><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/a>for Colorado \u2013 neither of which was ever true.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The raw truth is that some of the aforementioned NRFPT candidates liberally used the confusion to rally their own GOP supporters.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Blinded by the paradox, second rate voters totally missed the distinction that Hanks was being touted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=_bd6GvQCl-0\"><span class=\"s2\">conflicting contradictions<\/span><\/a> in order to confuse the electorate against <\/span><span class=\"s3\"><i>the one candidate<\/i><\/span><span class=\"s1\"> who could easily beat the Democrat Frisch and bring his AF principles to an ailing Congress.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Even the GOP-aligned Congressional Leadership Fund associated with Speaker Johnson weighed in with a complete <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coloradopolitics.com\/elections\/2024\/national-republicans-attack-ron-hanks-blast-adam-frisch-for-meddling-in-colorados-3rd-cd-gop\/article_b5ca6d52-2d8d-11ef-b509-1b726e78a691.html\"><span class=\"s2\">distortion<\/span><\/a> of Ron as<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=6ETWlo0_-Uc\"><span class=\"s2\">Bullseye for Liberals<\/span><\/a>\u201d which confirms which side the Speaker resides.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">As if all the misperceptions were not enough, the RMV sent out seven glossy, colored, expensive large campaign mailers in the Third. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Three of which were solely devoted to labelling Hanks as a \u201c<\/span><span class=\"s2\">conservative warrior<\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u201d as if that is a negative and declaring \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/search.brave.com\/search?q=Rocky+Mountain+Values+Trumpism+is+Wrong&amp;source=desktop&amp;summary=1&amp;summary_og=272404cab25dc00cf4ae52\"><span class=\"s2\">Trumpism is Wrong<\/span><\/a>\u201d<i>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Most entertaining were Democrat Frisch\u2019s tv ads appropriately nailing Hurd for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=X9wLsbKnPG0\"><span class=\"s2\">his failures<\/span><\/a> during the primary of not participating in any candidate forums and refusing to reveal his previous\/current Presidential choices.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The organized effort to skew the primary results depended on a politically immature constituency, unable to read between the lines as the Uniparty strategy to discredit and confuse voters about Hanks in favor of Hurd was especially effective. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Election night results for the Third gave Uniparty candidate Jeff Hurd a shaky 43% with 28,750 votes.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>His closest rival was Ron Hanks with 28% and 18,541 votes.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>From there, the NRFPT split the remaining 30% of the vote; thereby frittering what otherwise could have been a solid GOP opponent to the Dems in November while sending Hurd to DC with a less than impressive plurality.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Over in the Fifth District, Maga endorsed candidate Dave Williams experienced a well-organized, well-funded <a href=\"https:\/\/www.durangoherald.com\/articles\/jeff-crank-beats-dave-williams-in-republican-primary\/\"><span class=\"s2\">$2.7 million Pac<\/span><\/a> resistance in support of Jeff Crank who was also supported by Speaker Johnson.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">President Trump remained oddly on the sidelines by not endorsing Hanks, an Air Force<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>veteran of Afghanistan while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Sherronna\/posts\/ouch-2nd-endorsement-this-week-pulled-for-the-cd3-candidate-stephen-varela-veter\/1920018765293749\/\"><span class=\"s2\">Veterans for Trump<\/span><\/a> pulled their endorsement of one of the NRFPT\u2019s.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>With the loss of Williams, the former President\u2019s influence appeared to be less advantageous when the votes were counted as two new RINO Uniparty House Members will be taking their seats.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"p1\"><em><span class=\"s1\">Renee Parsons served on the ACLU\u2019s Florida State Board of Directors and as president of the ACLU Treasure Coast Chapter.
