{"id":24072,"date":"2020-08-09T14:35:15","date_gmt":"2020-08-09T18:35:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=24072"},"modified":"2020-08-09T14:35:15","modified_gmt":"2020-08-09T18:35:15","slug":"this-rapidly-deteriorating-financial-dynamic-will-wake-up-new-yorkers-in-a-new-york-minute","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=24072","title":{"rendered":"This rapidly deteriorating financial dynamic will wake up New Yorkers in a New York minute!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>New Yorkers, Crushed By Pandemic, See $336 Billion In Personal Wealth Evaporate<\/h1>\n<p><!--more-->ZeroHedge.com<\/p>\n<p>Many U.S. cities are emerging from the\u00a0coronavirus pandemic that has triggered the most severe economic contraction since the Great Depression of the 1930s.<\/p>\n<p>Research firms Webster Pacific and New World Wealth have published a new report (seen by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2020-08-05\/new-york-city-residents-wealth-drops-336-billion-from-year-ago\">Bloomberg<\/a>) taking into account the impact of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/markets\/us-q2-gdp-crashes-record-329-worse-great-depression\">virus-induced recession<\/a>\u00a0on individual wealth.<\/p>\n<p>What they found,\u00a0on a metro by metro basis, is that New Yorkers\u00a0lost the most wealth,\u00a0recorded a whopping $336 billion loss, or -13%, compared with\u00a0the previous year.<\/p>\n<p>Residents in\u00a0San Francisco, the second-wealthiest city in the nation,\u00a0fared better than New Yorkers, lost\u00a0$105 billion, or 5% of the wealth, during the pandemic.
