you can expect to see us do that again,&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0he said, in reference to the prior Iranian ballistic missile and drone attack in retaliation for the previous Israeli attack on Tehran&#8217;s embassy in Damascus.<\/p>\n<p>* * *<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Update(1550ET)<\/u>:\u00a0<\/strong>Multiple Iranian officials have told the\u00a0<em>New York Times<\/em>\u00a0in a breaking story that\u00a0Iran\u2019s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has<strong>\u00a0ordered retaliation against Israel\u00a0<\/strong>for the brazen assassination by missile strike of Hamas leader\u00a0Ismail Haniyeh which took place on Iranian soil in the early morning hours.<\/p>\n<p>Officials referenced the &#8220;humiliating security failure&#8221; and that Iran must once against show &#8220;strength against the risk of escalation&#8221; in exacting revenge on Israel.<\/p>\n<p>Khamenei has, according to the report, &#8220;<strong>issued an order for Iran to strike Israel directly<\/strong>, in retaliation for the killing in Tehran of Hamas\u2019s leader&#8221; the Iranian Foreign Ministry statement began.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Islamic Republic of Iran\u00a0<strong>emphasizes the responsibility of the US government\u00a0<\/strong>as a supporter and accomplice of the Zionist regime in the continuation of the occupation and genocide of the Palestinians, in committing this heinous act of terrorism,&#8221; to Israel leaves open the question of whether Tehran believes the US had an actual direct operational role in Haniyeh&#8217;s killing.<\/p>\n<p>However, Iran&#8217;s ambassador to the United Nations issued a more specific\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MarioNawfal\/status\/1818683559734841826\">denunciation<\/a>\u00a0in tandem:<strong>\u00a0&#8220;This act could not have occurred without the authorization and intelligence support of the U.S.,&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong>it said in a letter submitted to the UN.
