A Temporary Flight Restriction Notice has gone out via a Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) closing off all air space around Washington DC from surface to 99,000 feet, until further notice.\u00a0 \u00a0This type of all-encompassing closure simply does not happen.\u00a0 Something big is up.<\/p>\n
As seen below, this closure is for “National Defense Airspace.”<\/p>\n

I received this from a listener who is a private pilot in Virginia.\u00a0 He told me:<\/p>\n
“I’m a private pilot that checks weather, TFR’s and NOTAMS every day.\u00a0 I live in Central Virginia, and fly often. This TFR that popped up for DC for today 9\/27\/24 is unprecedented.\u00a0 Surface to 99,000MSL.\u00a0 I have never seen this in all the years I’ve been flying.
