Reports of a complete absence of state or federal assistance in the devastated areas hit by Hurricane Helene are now crowding the social media airwaves. Bodies floating down the rivers. Bodies hanging in trees. Tangled in piles of debris. Utility company linemen are the first into most of the demolished areas. They report finding children as young as three wandering naked in the mud, crying for their parents, some with ropes dangling from where their parents lashed them in desperation to timber. The smell of death is everywhere. About 1 million souls lived in these Western North Carolina counties, with additional souls dying in the mountains of Eastern Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Help is not coming<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>State and federal authorities have not been on site for the first week or so after the storm dropped like a bomb. There is no update on the number of dead, missing, and rescue of those who have survived other than local accounts. A report out of Asheville, the largest flooded out community in North Carolina, says some FEMA workers have just arrived with porta potties for the local inundated hospital which is still without any electricity or any water. Volunteers, community members, and now some aid workers beginning to trickle in are bringing the dead to the privately owned\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/angelanashtn\/status\/1842023887191581140?s=43&amp;t=RjFp0esFgoeNCwxQt-a5mw\" rel=\"\">Mission hospital in Asheville<\/a>, which is now designated the place to bring bodies in the region. FEMA is quoted as saying they are too tied up at the border and won\u2019t be sending refrigerator trucks for body storage. FEMA also was overheard saying \u201cadd a couple zeros\u201d to whatever the body count is right now\u2026<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/angelanashtn\/status\/1842023887191581140?s=43&amp;t=RjFp0esFgoeNCwxQt-a5mw\" rel=\"\">One local report<\/a>\u00a0on X cites reports of over 900 bodies already at the hospital that haven\u2019t been identified.<\/p>\n<p>A\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/chrismartenson\/status\/1841636020187431216\" rel=\"\">report out of Chimney Rock, NC<\/a>\u00a0said a \u2018government official\u2019 has told residents at a town meeting that the federal government is seizing land, and the entire area will be bulldozed&#8211;bodies, still-standing buildings, and all. One local pastor was going door to door with water, and found there were so many bodies that they changed their delivery request to body bags. \u201cThey are not picking up the bodies. They don\u2019t wanna identify the bodies and they\u2019re just leaving them to rot in the streets.\u201d And \u201cSomething evil is going on in the NC mountains.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The disaster region needs pilots with planes, helicopters, people with big equipment and trucks.\u00a0 The 82<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a0airborne\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Alexandersabe_\/status\/1841564305545642207\" rel=\"\">is still not ordered to participate in the rescue<\/a>, their Apache helicopters are on the ground waiting for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/vetsfordtrump\/status\/1841855889268941049\" rel=\"\">Title 10&#8211;the emergency order<\/a>\u00a0that is required to activate the 82<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a0airborne.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FEMA is AWOL<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is AWOL. The few FEMA representatives trickling in a week after disaster struck are\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/wallstreetapes\/status\/1842347845136830924?s=43&amp;t=RjFp0esFgoeNCwxQt-a5mw\" rel=\"\">actively disrupting volunteer<\/a>\u00a0efforts. Emergency supplies are being taken from volunteers and locked up,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/glennbeck\/status\/1842293685834416174?s=12\" rel=\"\">FEMA directs survivors<\/a>\u00a0to use nonexistent internet or telephones, and some state and federal officials are threatening volunteers and survivors with arrest. Federal relief is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/USA_MAG1\/status\/1842347349068149038\" rel=\"\">reported to be loans<\/a>\u2014and the contracts required state if funds are not paid back on time all property may be seized.<\/p>\n<p>Unverified reports state North Carolina police have\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/CPTOshaughnessy\/status\/1842294699224416462\" rel=\"\">now issued a statement<\/a>\u00a0that they will start arresting any federal employees trying to stop or hinder rescue\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tribune.com.pk\/story\/2500878\/claims-debunked-about-nc-state-police-arresting-fema-employees\" rel=\"\">operations, have been debunked<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors of the hurricane and the floods are still without power more than a week after the storm and the rains&#8211;there is no date for restoration in sight. Food and water are running out or gone and small communities are still cut off.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dehydrated and starving people have been abandoned<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Dehydrated and starving people with no cell phones or other means of communication have been abandoned<\/em>. A\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worldviewtube.com\/tv\/video\/three-north-carolina-patriots-private-helicopter-describe-how-they-are-rescuing-countless\" rel=\"\">Brannon Howse media interview<\/a>\u00a0with the nonprofit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/aerialrecovery.org\/\" rel=\"\">Aerial Recovery<\/a>\u00a0organization confirmed the federal government absence and further confirmed that they were told not to conduct search, rescue, and recovery work in both Lake Lure and Chimney Rock when they arrived with former special forces volunteers, equipment, chain saws. The volunteer rescue crew were stopped and ordered to leave by the local police.<\/p>\n<p>Elon Musk\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1842284913279586447\" rel=\"\">posted a video<\/a>\u00a0of the devastation filmed by some of his Space X engineers flying into North Carolina to deliver Starlink terminals and supplies. Musk said \u201cmy blood is boiling\u201d because\u00a0 FEMA would not let the Musk company helicopter land to deliver the critical supplies.<\/p>\n<p>Columnist\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/leohohmann.substack.com\/p\/theres-something-nefarious-going?utm_source=substack&amp;utm_campaign=post_embed&amp;utm_medium=web\" rel=\"\">Leo Hohmann<\/a>\u00a0reminds us that this region of the US is Trump country:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>If your house is destroyed and you are literally trying to survive in an atmosphere with little or no food, water and shelter, and your cell service is out, will you be thinking about voting? What if you are fine but you haven\u2019t heard from a family member since the storm hit. You are searching for them, wondering if you will find them dead or alive. Will you be thinking about voting? I don\u2019t think so. So<em>, we have to wonder if this is not only a humanitarian tragedy being left unattended by the federal government but whether it may also be a concentrated voter suppression effort.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Most recently the Biden-Harris administration has announced\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/pjgp_fit\/status\/1841718524269449525\" rel=\"\">release of $750 per person<\/a>\u00a0in FEMA funds for hurricane victims. Colonel Douglas Macgregor\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/FBIPantyRaid\/status\/1694143064242368698\" rel=\"\">exposed to Tucker Carlson<\/a>\u00a0that illegal immigrants coming over the border are being given $2200 per month. FEMA has been transformed into\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/America1stLegal\/status\/1840862874203197691\" rel=\"\">emergency aid<\/a>\u00a0for illegal immigrants, paid for by US taxpayers.<\/p>\n<p>Infrastructure is another critical survival matter that is suddenly in short supply.\u00a0 In\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gingerbreggin.substack.com\/p\/towns-are-gone-others-devastated\" rel=\"\">our last column<\/a>\u00a0we documented the ILA (International Longshoremen\u2019s Association) strike that started over the weekend. Docks across the Eastern Seaboard and the Gulf are closed. Steel, heavy equipment, building supplies, and replacement parts for everything from rescue equipment to heavy electrical transformers come in by boat.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The regional electrical grid has 360 substations out of commission<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.power-grid.com\/td\/the-u-s-has-a-critical-shortage-of-power-transformers-can-it-bounce-back\/#gref\" rel=\"\">a massive shortage of transformers<\/a>\u00a0in the US, with wait times for replacements of up to five years. So those\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/americanmilitarynews.com\/2024\/10\/pics-power-grid-apocalypse-impacts-southern-states-hit-by-hurricane\/\" rel=\"\">heavy transformers knocked out by the hurricane<\/a>\u00a0are not going to be replaced any time soon<em>. North Carolina has over 360 substations out of commission in its Western region.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>As of October 4, the striking ILA\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/10\/03\/business\/port-strike-union-deal\/index.html\" rel=\"\">port workers are returning to work<\/a>\u00a0until mid-January after negotiations\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/10\/04\/business\/port-strike-ends-whats-next\/index.html?iid=cnn_buildContentRecirc_end_recirc\" rel=\"\">settled on a wages agreement<\/a>.\u00a0 But the high voltage transformer shortage will not be remedied anytime soon.<\/p>\n<p>January of 2024, the federal government\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/energysecurityua.org\/news\/usaid-delivered-two-high-voltage-autotransformers-to-ukrenergo\/\" rel=\"\">transferred two high voltage power transformers to Ukraine<\/a>\u00a0to \u201cenhance the reliability of Ukraine\u2019s Integrated Power System and ensure its maintenance during this and following winters.\u201d\u00a0 This was done despite\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cisa.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/2024-09\/NIAC_Addressing%20the%20Critical%20Shortage%20of%20Power%20Transformers%20to%20Ensure%20Reliability%20of%20the%20U.S.%20Grid_Report_06112024_508c_pdf_0.pdf\" rel=\"\">the shortage of that equipment<\/a>\u00a0to ensure US electrical grid reliability.\u00a0 Now we are without the back up supply of transformers needed to repair the grid in the damaged part of Western North Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>North Carolina lawmaker Rep. Chuck Edwards (R-N.C.)\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.latitudemedia.com\/news\/faced-with-transformer-shortages-clean-energy-developers-are-getting-creative\" rel=\"\">reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe flooding provides a unique challenge not previously faced by substations in Western North Carolina\u2026There is a high likelihood that the substations are not repairable, and replacement of the substation equipment will be necessary.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Latitude Media, covering energy news<a href=\"https:\/\/www.latitudemedia.com\/news\/faced-with-transformer-shortages-clean-energy-developers-are-getting-creative\" rel=\"\">, reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Many substations [in Western NC] are reportedly completely flooded, leaving Duke Energy, the investor-owned utility that serves the region, unable to accurately assess the damage until the waters recede and the bulky equipment can be dried.<\/p>\n<p>Replacement, however, is a tall order. The disaster is coming in the midst of a shortage of electrical equipment, and especially of the transformers that substations use to switch power voltage from direct current to alternating current, or vice versa.<\/p>\n<p>As electricity demand across the U.S. increases, so does\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.latitudemedia.com\/news\/faced-with-transformer-shortages-clean-energy-developers-are-getting-creative\" rel=\"\">demand for the equipment<\/a>\u00a0that renewable projects, electric vehicle chargers, and countless other things depend upon.\u00a0 And manufacturers are already at capacity \u2014 and expanding it further is made challenging by a tight labor market. Transformer prices have risen over 60% since 2020.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The idea that some of the lightly populated region of the heavily forested mountain region of North Carolina might not be rebuilt begins to make a diabolical kind of sense.<\/p>\n<p>The United States used to know how to do rescue. I wrote about traditional American rescue activities and contrasted them with the lack of assistance during the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gingerbreggin.substack.com\/p\/mauis-inferno-organized-human-evil\" rel=\"\">Maui\/Lahaina \u201cwildfire.\u201d<\/a>\u00a0That \u00a0signaled a blatant, unhidden disregard for the fundamental decency and traditions and values of Western Civilization:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Americans Know What to Do When Disaster Strikes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Americans know what to do when disasters hit. We have been doing rescue, survival, and restoration for as long as we have had communities, from the first small outposts dotting the East Coast to the spread and growth of towns and cities across this amazing land.<\/p>\n<p>We know how to \u201cdo\u201d rescue. Many of us learned in our youth, during Scouts or other volunteer organizations. Many of us have served in the armed forces, as EMTs or police, or as a member of volunteer fire departments, or we have had training in CPR and first aid. My father was a member of the ski patrol in its infancy, in New York State. Now, most communities and certainly most regions have established Red Cross offices.<\/p>\n<p>Rescue begins when an alarm goes up. There is a fire, a tornado, a hurricane, a flood, or some other disaster. People gather to help stem the damage, set up a central meeting place, start keeping a list of survivors (and those lost), gather supplies to sustain everyone, comfort the stricken, and start the clean-up and the restoration. Temporary housing is arranged, care for children is established, and the beginnings of a return to normalcy occur amidst the comforting of those who have been through the traumatic experience and loss of family, friends, community, and home.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Rescue is not coming\u2014What is being done?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is not your Granddaddy\u2019s rescue anymore. The burning question is why?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNever let a serious crisis go to waste\u201d was known as Rahm\u2019s rule. Rahm Emanual was chief of staff to President-elect Barack Obama, when he issued that famous declaration. So, we ask what can be done with this massive disaster?<\/p>\n<p>We have touched upon the first action\u2014condemn the lightly populated portions of North Carolina including the damaged electrical infrastructure meant to service the area.\u00a0 Suddenly the need for transformers is lessened.<\/p>\n<p>But eliminating the need to replace key electrical grid infrastructure is only the beginning. There is so much more benefit to be gained by emptying these mountains of the American citizens who have lived and worked there.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lithium in the Mountain Mines and the Department of Defense Wants It<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Some of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.deq.nc.gov\/energy-mineral-and-land-resources\/geological-survey\/geoscience-education\/lithium-north-carolina-factsheet\/open#:~:text=Notice%20the%20lithium%20mines%2C%20prospects,pegmatites%20that%20contain%20spodumene%20minerals.&amp;text=What%20was%20Earth%20like%20350,lithium%20found%20in%20North%20Carolina?&amp;text=What%20is%20a%20geologic%20terrane?&amp;text=million%20years%20old!\" rel=\"\">richest lithium sources<\/a>\u00a0in the world are located in Western North Carolina. Two lithium mines already exist in the mountainous region of Western North Carolina.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/albemarlekingsmountain.com\/#:~:text=The%20Kings%20Mountain%2C%20North%20Carolina,of%20products%20used%20every%20day.\" rel=\"\">Albemarle Kings Mountain,<\/a>\u00a0is one mining operation and is touted as one of the world\u2019s most advanced lithium material sites. The funds are earmarked to help support \u201cAlbemarle\u2019s planned re-opening of their Kings Mountain, N.C. lithium mine to increase domestic production of lithium for the nation\u2019s battery supply chain.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>BlackRock Inc. Buys Into Albermarle\u2019s Lithium Mine Operation, too<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>BlackRock Inc wants a bigger piece of the mine, too. The largest investment firm in the world, BlackRock, increased it\u2019s ownership in Albermarle Corp by buying over 2 million shares in August 31, 2024, less than a month before Hurricane Helene hit the mountains.\u00a0 The coincidences just keep piling up.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Piedmont lithium mining company was struggling<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>due to community opposition<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Piedmont Lithium\u2019s North Carolina operation is located 30 miles west of Charlotte in Gaston County. Piedmont Lithium\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/businessnc.com\/piedmont-lithium-shifting-focus-to-gaston-site\/#:~:text=Piedmont%20submitted%20its%20application%20for,when%20running%20at%20full%20steam.\" rel=\"\">has interests<\/a>\u00a0in Tennessee, North Carolina, Ghana and Canada\u00a0 but \u201cindustry headwinds are causing major changes at the startup company.\u201d The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/corporatefinanceinstitute.com\/resources\/economics\/headwind\/\" rel=\"\">term headwinds<\/a>\u00a0means in layperson, making company growth more difficult.<\/p>\n<p>The company had\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/quote\/PLL\/\" rel=\"\">much higher and active value until mid 2023<\/a>\u00a0when it ran into local opposition and was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/businessnc.com\/piedmont-lithium-shifting-focus-to-gaston-site\/#:~:text=Piedmont%20submitted%20its%20application%20for,when%20running%20at%20full%20steam.\" rel=\"\">having trouble with expansion plans<\/a>\u00a0in Tennessee. Piedmont Lithium\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ncnewsline.com\/2023\/08\/18\/piedmont-lithium-gets-cold-shoulder-in-gaston-county\/#:~:text=They%20fear%20their%20drinking%20water,lost%20those%20people%20for%20good.\" rel=\"\">was heavily opposed<\/a>\u00a0in Gaston County by local residents and commissioners. But now it appears the opposition has been eliminated.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cNational Security Assets\u201d&#8211; Quartz Mines for Tech Industries Impacted<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Two\u00a0 quartz mines in Spruce Pine, NC produce \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/10\/02\/tech\/semiconductor-supply-chain-north-carolina-helene\/index.html\" rel=\"\">the world\u2019s purest quartz<\/a>, which formed in the area some 380 million years ago. The material is a key component in the global supply chain for semiconductor chips, which power everything from smartphones and cars to medical devices and solar panels.\u201d\u00a0 According to the two companies, Siblelco and The Quartz Corp, that separately manage the two mines, they are making strides in getting their mines up and running again. The largest delay may be the specialized workers most of whom have been displaced by the storm and floods. Semiconductor manufacturers may run into extended delays until these two mines are up and running once again.\u00a0 CNN Business reports:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cYou\u2019re building these incredibly complicated chips that have, in some cases, 100 billion transistors, 100 billion tiny little machines, on a chip that is the size of your thumbnail \u2026 One atom being out of place could mean a defect that breaks the chip,\u201d said Gregory Allen, director of the Wadhwani Center for AI and Advanced Technologies at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.<\/p>\n<p>And while quartz is abundant around the world, the kind of ultra-high-purity quartz mined in Spruce Pine is not.\u00a0<em>The Spruce Pine mines provide an estimated 80% to 90% of the world\u2019s high-purity quartz\u00a0<\/em>\u2014 experts say the exact amount is proprietary and unknown \u2014\u00a0supplying semiconductor manufacturers like chipmaking giant Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Other quartz sources in the US and around the world require purification processes that are time consuming and far inferior to the special quartz found, so far, at these two mines in North Carolina. The mines are considered a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/academic.oup.com\/book\/8130\/chapter-abstract\/153604207?redirectedFrom=fulltext\" rel=\"\">national strategic asset<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gusher Knob\u2014Another Quartz Company \u2013May Now Expand Rapidly<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I have discovered another company in the same affected region\u2014<a href=\"https:\/\/gusherknob.com\/\" rel=\"\">Land &amp; Mineral Company\u2014Gusher Knob<\/a>\u00a0which is currently developing joint venture and extraction partners to begin mining the Gusher Knob land tract containing another ultra-high purity quartz deposit. \u00a0I expect their business will pick up rapidly now in the wake of property damage from Hurricane Helene.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Asheville to become a Smart City?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Asheville, NC is the largest town in the damaged reason, and it has suffered grave damage too, as we\u2019ve reported above. There\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mountaintrue.org\/communities\/smart-growth-coalition\/\" rel=\"\">have been plans<\/a>\u00a0going\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.citizen-times.com\/story\/news\/local\/2016\/05\/14\/smart-city-network-ready-will-leaders-approve\/84377386\/\" rel=\"\">back over eight years<\/a>\u00a0to convert Asheville to a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.waterworld.com\/water-utility-management\/article\/14280668\/transforming-a-small-town-into-a-major-smart-city\" rel=\"\">Smart City<\/a>. Because of the damage including lack of electricity and water, the opportunity now presents itself to implement the smart city plans for Asheville. Because of its size, Asheville may survive and become the regional hub for the future plans of Western North Carolina.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Seizure of Private Lands<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/enrd\/condemnation\/land-acquisition-section\/history-federal-use-eminent-domain\" rel=\"\">Federal government can seize land<\/a>.\u00a0 The power of eminent domain, explained as the seizure of private property for public use, has been exercised for a variety of reasons over the decades.\u00a0 Expanding rail and roadways, creating parks and many other reasons have been used to seize land. There is a legal requirement that the landowner be compensated \u201cfairly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The technique of condemnation cases was acknowledged by the Supreme court and has been used to appropriate property for public uses from the establishment of a post office to the building of a railroad. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/enrd\/condemnation\/land-acquisition-section\/history-federal-use-eminent-domain\" rel=\"\">History of the Federal Use of Eminent Domain<\/a>\u00a0describes the legal issues and development of this federal law.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/rocr\/index.htm\" rel=\"\">Rock Creek Park<\/a>, running through Washington DC and into Maryland, was developed using eminent domain.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Many Values of Mountain Land to Globalist Interests<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I have touched on the growing demand and national security significance for globally scarce lithium and for precious quartz, both of which have traditionally been mined in this region. But there is an even greater value, at least to the federal government over time, in this great swath of the Appalachians to those who wish to embrace globalist values enshrined in the United Nations 2030 and 2050 Goals.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/breggin.com\/We-are-the-Prey\" rel=\"\">I do not embrace globalism<\/a>, as it has demonstrated an utter disregard for individual sovereignty, freedoms, Constitutional values and basic American rights. But the Biden\/Harris US administration has completely embraced globalism, doing all that it can to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Biden-Harris-Administrations-National-Security-Strategy-10.2022.pdf\" rel=\"\">increase the US globalist transformation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>United Nations 2030 and 2050 Goals and the Value of Carbon Credits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The UN has established a Global Biodiversity Framework that calls for a 2050 goal of all\u00a0<em>ecosystem integrity being advanced, with \u201can increase of at least 15% in the area, connectivity and integrity of natural ecosystems, supporting healthy and resilient populations of all species\u2026\u201d<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0In layman\u2019s language this means people are no more important than \u201call\u201d species and non-human, i.e. natural ecosystems need to be expanded. In other words, remove the human influence on the region.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iis-rio.org\/en\/about-iis\/\" rel=\"\">International Institute for Sustainability<\/a>\u00a0(IIS) is \u201ca Brazilian private non-profit organization whose mission is to develop transformative solutions for a sustainable world, based on Science [sic] and other forms of knowledge.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The IIS partners with the UN and other international biodiversity international organizations and has organized the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/explorer.naturemap.earth\/\" rel=\"\">Nature Map Explorer<\/a>\u00a0that identifies and maps a huge quantity of information about the terrestrial habitats, human impact, species richness, biomass carbon density and more, along with the areas of global significance for conservation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Appalachians Have UN Designated\u00a0<\/strong><em><strong>Global Significance for Conservation<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>One of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/explorer.naturemap.earth\/map\" rel=\"\">richest areas<\/a>\u00a0of \u201cglobal significance for conservation\u201d in the US is the exact region of Western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee that has been devastated by Hurricane Helene.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It appears from rumors coming out of Chimney Rock and surrounding areas that a condemnation seizure is ongoing. Once a third party verifies these projects, the resulting carbon credits can then be sold to individuals or companies seeking to offset their emissions.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I expect a few specialized, high value mines will be able to co-exist in such an environment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Out of Crisis Come New Opportunities\u2026for Some<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The State of North Carolina, the US federal government, the mining industries, the future carbon credit investors, academics, and environmental nonprofits will be able to profit from the damage done by the historic hurricane Helene. In a forthcoming column, I will be examining the weather conditions and control that steered this massive, once- in- a- thousand-year storm directly to the Appalachians.<\/p>\n<p>For the rest of us, the citizens, the regular folks. There are just too many of us,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gingerbreggin.substack.com\/p\/do-they-really-want-us-to-die-the?utm_source=publication-search\" rel=\"\">and depopulation<\/a>\u00a0is underway. But we refuse to give up to the plans of the global predators.
