{"id":256828,"date":"2024-10-14T06:21:56","date_gmt":"2024-10-14T10:21:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=256828"},"modified":"2024-10-14T06:21:56","modified_gmt":"2024-10-14T10:21:56","slug":"democrats-wont-certify-a-trump-victory-but-continue-to-advocate-bidens-delusion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=256828","title":{"rendered":"Democrats Won\u2019t Certify a Trump Victory But Continue to Advocate Biden\u2019s Delusion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more-->Sarah Arnold<br \/>\nTownhall<\/p>\n<p id=\"isPasted\">Democrats will remain in denial that their beloved senile president lost the 2024 election and will refuse to accept another Trump presidency.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, several senior House Democrats suggested they won\u2019t certify the election results if former President Trump wins.<\/p>\n<p>According to\u00a0<a title=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/politics\/archive\/2024\/02\/democrats-congress-trump-january-6\/677545\/\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/politics\/archive\/2024\/02\/democrats-congress-trump-january-6\/677545\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Atlantic<\/a>, some Democrats said they won\u2019t attest to a Trump 2024 victory if the Supreme Court does not define the GOP frontrunner\u2019s eligibility to appear on the ballot.<\/p>\n<p>A Colorado ruling found that Trump is ineligible to appear on the election ballot under the 14th Amendment\u2019s \u201cinsurrectionist ban.\u201d However, the Supreme Court was unconvinced that a state should be allowed to remove him from its ballot.<\/p>\n<p>Attorney Jason Murray told the outlet that if \u201cthe Supreme Court didn\u2019t resolve the question of Trump\u2019s eligibility, it could come back with a vengeance,\u201d suggesting that when Congress meets following the election to count and certify the votes of the Electoral College, they will seek to disqualify him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf this Court concludes that Colorado did not have the authority to exclude President Trump from the presidential ballot on procedural grounds, I think it could come back with a vengeance because, ultimately, members of Congress would have to make the determination after a presidential election if President Trump wins about whether or not he is disqualified from office and whether to count votes cast for him under the Electoral Count Reform Act,\u201d Murray said.<\/p>\n<p>During oral arguments on the issue, Democrat Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) told the outlet that Trump is \u201cclearly ineligible\u201d but admitted that objecting to the problem is \u201cvery murky\u201d given that \u201cthere\u2019s no procedure, per se, for challenging on this basis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.) told the Atlantic that he thinks Trump is \u201can insurrectionist\u201d and should not be allowed to run for a second term in the White House.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Rep. Adam Schiff told The Atlantic that he didn\u2019t \u201cwant to get into the chaos hypothetical\u201d of the question. Still, he would not challenge Trump\u2019s victory if the Supreme Court ruled the former president can remain on the ballot.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, Rep.
