Not only did it start a wildfire forcing 20,000 people to evacuate, 10K acres have been scorched!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Gender-reveal pyrotechnic sparked massive El Dorado fire<\/h1>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>&#8216;Those responsible for starting fires due to negligence or illegal activity can be held financially and criminally responsible&#8217;<\/h3>\n<p>By David Aaro | Fox News<\/p>\n<p>A smoke generating pyrotechnic device used at a gender-reveal party ignited one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/us\/disasters\/fires\">23 major fires<\/a>\u00a0burning in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/us\/us-regions\/west\/california\">California<\/a>, fire officials announced on Sunday evening.<\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable\">The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/california-wildfire-oak-glen-evacuated\">El Dorado Fire<\/a>, currently burning near Oak Glen in\u00a0San Bernardino County, has forced the evacuations of 3,000 residents,\u00a0according to CBS LA. It has already scorched more than 7,000 acres and is only five\u00a0percent contained.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;CAL FIRE reminds the public that with the dry conditions and critical fire weather, it doesn&#8217;t take much to start a wildfire,&#8221; a Cal Fire San Bernardino Unit statement said. &#8220;Those responsible for starting fires due to negligence or illegal activity can be held financially and criminally responsible.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-media instagram\"><iframe id=\"instagram-embed-0\" class=\"instagram-media instagram-media-rendered\" src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CE0ddK-hHo1\/embed\/captioned\/?cr=1&amp;v=12&amp;wp=656&amp;rd=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.foxnews.com&amp;rp=%2Fus%2Ffire-officials-say-gender-reveal-pyrotechnic-cause-of-el-dorado-fire#%7B%22ci%22%3A0%2C%22os%22%3A2547.7500000015425%7D\" height=\"1183\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-instgrm-payload-id=\"instagram-media-payload-0\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>The fire started at 10:23 a.m. on Sept. 5, in the El Dorado Ranch Park in Yucaipa, located about 75 miles east of Los Angeles, the statement added. It was pushing to the east, then to the north, and then big westwardly wind shift, and (Sunday) it moved to the south. The wind has been pretty dramatically inconsistent,\u201d said Ben Holmes, a U.S. Forest Service senior firefighter on the Arroyo Grande Hotshots team, according to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/losangeles.cbslocal.com\/2020\/09\/06\/heat-wave-el-dorado-fire-evacuations-yucaipa\/\">station<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"image-ct inline\">\n<div class=\"caption\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Users on social media shared their outrage after learning what caused the blaze, which has required more than\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/inciweb.nwcg.gov\/incident\/article\/7148\/55109\/\">500 personnel<\/a>\u00a0to help contain it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;God, this makes me so angry,&#8221; one user wrote on Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You HAVE to be kidding.
