President Donald Trump warned an influx of mail-in ballots will lead to not having an election winner for weeks or months, if ever.<\/p>\n
“They think they\u2019re going to send hundreds of millions of ballots all over the United States, and it\u2019s going to come out,” Trump said at an event for police on Friday. “You won\u2019t know the election result for weeks, months, maybe years after. Maybe you\u2019ll never know the election result, and that\u2019s what I\u2019m concerned with. It\u2019ll be fixed. It\u2019ll be rigged. People ought to get smart. And I just hope our Republican voters, the people that are for you, are going to do what they have to do.”<\/p>\n
REPORTER: Mr. President, if we could ask you, specifically: We heard yesterday you were \u2014 your frustrations about how long it\u2019ll take to count the ballots here. Then why aren\u2019t you spending more energy to get the resources and the funding for the states that they want to be able to secure this election for all Americans?<\/p>\n
THE PRESIDENT: Peter, you know nothing about my energy. Okay?<\/p>\n

THE PRESIDENT: So, on NBC \u2014 I just told you about the false report that NBC put out the other night about the mayor of Portland. And this is the kind of stuff you get.<\/p>\n
You\u2019ll see what happens. And it\u2019s common sense. Everyone knows mail-in ballots are a disaster. You just have to take a look at the last recent \u2014 take a look at New York City. Look at New York, they\u2019re still counting your ballots, Pat.<\/p>\n
MR. LYNCH: Yeah.<\/p>\n
THE PRESIDENT: Do you know that?<\/p>\n
Mr. LYNCH: That\u2019s right.<\/p>\n
THE PRESIDENT: They had a race, a small race, by comparison \u2014 by comparison, tiny. It\u2019s so messed up; they have no idea. There are ballots missing \u2014 thousands and thousands of ballots are missing. They think they\u2019re going to send hundreds of millions of ballots all over the United States, and it\u2019s going to come out. You won\u2019t know the election result for weeks, months, maybe years after. Maybe you\u2019ll never know the election result, and that\u2019s what I\u2019m concerned with. It\u2019ll be fixed. Absentee ballots are great, because absentee ballots \u2014 you have to go through a process to get them and it\u2019s \u2014 it\u2019s actually a great thing. Absentee ballots. I\u2019m going to be voting absentee. An absentee ballot is one thing. A universal mail-in ballot is a disaster. These governors are going to send out millions of ballots. They don\u2019t even know where they\u2019re sending them. I already have friends that got ballots for a son who died seven years ago. When they get \u2014 you don\u2019t even want to talk about it.<\/p>\n
But the media knows this. Actually, the Washington Post wrote a great article \u2014 of all groups. A week ago, the Washington Post wrote a great article that this is a disaster. This is going to be the greatest election disaster in history.<\/p>\n
And, by the way, you guys like to talk about Russia and China and other places? They\u2019ll be able to forge ballots. They\u2019ll forge them. They\u2019ll do whatever they have to do. People should go and they should vote or do an absentee ballot.<\/p>\n
