(Video)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Pelosi: \u2018Why Bother\u2019 Holding a Presidential Debate? \u2014 Trump \u2018Isn\u2019t Committed to Our Constitution\u2019<\/h1>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on what&#039;s next in Supreme Court fight, fate of the Affordable Care Act\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vNDDOtAenEs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>by TRENT BAKER<br \/>\nBreibart.com<\/p>\n<p>With many criticizing 2020 Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden of hiding in his basement for the majority of his campaign, presidential debates seemingly would be a good way for the former vice president to refute claims of a decline in mental cognizance and that he is pushing a socialist agenda.<\/p>\n<p>During a Friday interview on CBS\u2019s \u201cThis Morning,\u201d House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA)\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2020\/08\/27\/nancy-pelosi-i-dont-think-there-should-be-any-debates\/\">doubled down<\/a>\u00a0on saying Biden should not debate President Donald Trump. Pelosi argued that Trump \u201chas no fidelity to fact or truth\u201d and \u201cisn\u2019t committed to our Constitution,\u201d thus she asked \u201cwhy bother\u201d holding a debate with him.<\/p>\n<p>Host Gayle King asked, \u201cYou had earlier suggested that you didn\u2019t think Biden should debate. Do you still feel that way?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI do,\u201d Pelosi replied. \u201cNot that I don\u2019t think he\u2019ll be excellent. I just think that the president has no fidelity to fact or truth, and actually, in his comments the last few days, no fidelity to the Constitution of the United States. He and his henchmen are a danger with their comments, are a danger to our democracy. So, I didn\u2019t want to give him \u2014 you know, why bother \u2014 you know, he doesn\u2019t tell the truth, he isn\u2019t committed to our Constitution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>King pushed back against Pelosi, referring to Trump\u2019s supporters as \u201chenchmen,\u201d suggesting it could be \u201cjust as insulting\u201d as the things he says about her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour language to some is just as egregious as what they\u2019re saying by calling the president\u2019s people henchmen. Some could say that\u2019s just as insulting as what he\u2019s saying about you,\u201d King advised.<\/p>\n<p>Pelosi responded, \u201cWell, I don\u2019t care what he says about me. Every knock from him is a boost for me. If he wants to help me raise money, he can keep knocking me. But I\u2019m speaking truth.
