Kamala Harris, D-Calif., was flashing wide smiles while deflecting direct questioning, &#8220;preaching and scolding,&#8221;\u00a0proving less &#8220;likable,&#8221; according to former deputy National Security Adviser K.T.\u00a0McFarland on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/newsmaxtv.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Newsmax TV.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They are two things: One is sort of personality, and\u00a0the other is policies,&#8221;\u00a0McFarland said during\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.c-span.org\/video\/?475794-1\/pence-harris-debate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wednesday night&#8217;s vice presidential\u00a0debate<\/a>\u00a0recap. &#8220;Nobody answered anything.\u00a0They never got anywhere near\u00a0the controversial stuff.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But\u00a0the personality thing \u2013 and I&#8217;m\u00a0gonna say this because I&#8217;m\u00a0assuming that you three guys can&#8217;t say this:\u00a0I don&#8217;t think she&#8217;s very likable.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The debate panel included McFarland, &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/newsmaxtv.com\/Shows\/Spicer-and-Co\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Spicer &amp; Co.<\/a>&#8221; host Sean Spicer, and primetime host Rob Schmitt.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Well, I think she\u00a0struggles with that in general,&#8221; Schmitt added.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think she comes\u00a0across as preaching and\u00a0scolding and Mike Pence is the nicest guy in the world,&#8221; McFarland continued. &#8220;So the fact that she\u00a0was sort of sneering and\u00a0talking down to him,\u00a0I think\u00a0really hurt her.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Spicer did say both candidates &#8220;did what they had to do,&#8221; before giving Pence the edge on demeanor.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I give the\u00a0edge to Mike Pence tonight,&#8221; Spicer said. &#8220;He\u00a0came out with the lines, he looked\u00a0calm, collected, informed, and had\u00a0the zingers \u2013 the lines you talk about tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;She didn&#8217;t answer the questions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Like Trump with Joe Biden in the first presidential debate a week ago, Pence pushed Harris to answer the question about packing the Supreme Court if Democrats are left bitter about the pending nomination hearing for Judge Amy Coney Barrett and subsequent vote in the Senate, of which Harris will be a part of.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;On two issues, the American\u00a0public lost,&#8221; guest Alan Dershowitz, a constitutional expert told, the panel. &#8220;The moderator [Susan Page of USA Today] should never have allowed Sen. Harris to get off the\u00a0hook and not respond to a\u00a0perfectly appropriate question: &#8216;Will you pack the Court if you control the Senate and you do win the presidency.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;She refused to answer. The moderator should have said, &#8216;Look,\u00a0you have\u00a0only two options:\u00a0You either\u00a0have to answer the question, or you have to acknowledge\u00a0that you refuse to answer the question.&#8217; There is no third option.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The second issue &#8220;the American public lost&#8221; on was VP Pence not directly answered the question of what he would do if president Donald Trump refused to leave office after losing the election.<\/p>\n<p>A paraphrase of his answer, Pence only said the president is not going to lose.<\/p>\n<p>___<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsmax.com\/newsmax-tv\/debate-vice-president-mike-pence-scotus\/2020\/10\/07\/id\/990921\/\">https:\/\/www.newsmax.com\/newsmax-tv\/debate-vice-president-mike-pence-scotus\/2020\/10\/07\/id\/990921\/<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>K.T.
