Follow her on Twitter\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/velocirapture23\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@velocirapture23<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article__summary summary \">Amazon has joined its Big Tech fellows in ramping up censorship of any criticism of the \u201cofficial\u201d Covid-19 narrative, deploying obfuscatory excuses to justify removing journalist James Perloff\u2019s latest book, he told RT.<\/div>\n<div class=\"article__text text \">\n<p>After selling a respectable 3,500 copies over the last two months, Perloff\u2019s book on the coronavirus pandemic and its weaponization by world governments, &#8216;<em>Covid-19 and the Agendas to Come: Red-Pilled,&#8217;<\/em>\u00a0was suddenly\u00a0<em>\u201cbanned\u201d<\/em>\u00a0by Amazon.com, the writer revealed on Twitter on Thursday.<\/p>\n<div class=\"rtcode\">\n<div class=\"twitter-tweet twitter-tweet-rendered\"><iframe id=\"twitter-widget-0\" class=\"\" title=\"Twitter Tweet\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/embed\/index.html?creatorScreenName=RT_com&amp;dnt=false&amp;embedId=twitter-widget-0&amp;frame=false&amp;hideCard=false&amp;hideThread=false&amp;id=1316920232217350146&amp;lang=en&amp;origin=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rt.com%2Fusa%2F503778-perloff-amazon-censorship-coronavirus%2F&amp;siteScreenName=RT_com&amp;theme=light&amp;widgetsVersion=ed20a2b%3A1601588405575&amp;width=550px\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-tweet-id=\"1316920232217350146\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Perloff spoke to RT on Friday about the platform\u2019s ominous act of censorship and how it seemed to validate his book\u2019s conclusions, expressing concern that\u00a0<em>\u201cthe censorship on Covid has been getting progressively stronger, even as the death rate from Covid has been getting progressively lower.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><em>We are in a truly Orwellian culture.<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The first sign of trouble came on Thursday when Amazon requested that he\u00a0<em>\u201cclarify [his] rights to the book\u201d<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 something he had already done upon putting it up for sale back in August. But before he could finish gathering the material required to prove once again that he owned the global rights to his own work, he received another email from Amazon, this time claiming they had removed his book\u00a0<em>\u201cduring a quality assurance review of [his] catalog\u201d<\/em>\u00a0because it\u00a0<em>\u201cviolated content guidelines.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"article__cover\">\n<div class=\"media\"><picture><source srcset=\"https:\/\/cdni.rt.com\/files\/2020.10\/original\/5f8a2d1d2030276fc74ad271.png\" sizes=\"715px\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/cdni.rt.com\/files\/2020.10\/original\/5f8a2d1d2030276fc74ad271.png\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"read-more__cover lazyautosizes lazyloaded\" src=\"https:\/\/cdni.rt.com\/files\/2020.10\/original\/5f8a2d1d2030276fc74ad271.png\" sizes=\"715px\" alt=\"RT\" data-sizes=\"auto\" data-src=\"https:\/\/cdni.rt.com\/files\/2020.10\/original\/5f8a2d1d2030276fc74ad271.png\" \/><\/picture><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>While Perloff said he\u00a0<em>\u201casked them to specify what guidelines [he] had violated,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0their reply merely restated that the\u00a0<em>\u201csubject matter\u201d<\/em>\u00a0of his book had been found to be\u00a0<em>\u201cin violation of our content guidelines,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0declaring the e-commerce behemoth\u00a0<em>\u201cwill not be offering this title for sale on Amazon.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><strong>We reserve the right to determine whether content provides a poor customer experience and remove the content from sale.<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>With five other books already listed on the platform, Perloff has communicated with Amazon extensively over the years, but something was off about these latest messages. In previous communications,\u00a0<em>\u201cthey would usually at least give a first name,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0he said.\u00a0<em>\u201cThis time I was dealing with persons \u2013 or a person\u00a0\u2013 who was cowering behind total anonymity.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The book traces how the Covid-19 pandemic has been used by governments around the world to force draconian social control measures upon a terrified populace, evaluates several theories\u00a0regarding the virus&#8217; origin, and offers some projections about what might lie ahead for humanity \u2013 including how populations might work together to avoid some of the most totalitarian outcomes.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"read-more-big\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/op-ed\/503516-covid19-lockdowns-great-reset\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"read-more-big__container\"><span class=\"read-more-big__content\"><span class=\"read-more-big__subtitle\">ALSO ON RT.COM<\/span><span class=\"read-more-big__title\">COVID-19 lockdowns are in lockstep with the &#8216;Great Reset&#8217;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>Perloff insists the information within was meticulously sourced from medical professionals, academic publications, and frontline physicians, with hundreds of endnotes referencing scholarly journals and other unimpeachable sources.\u00a0<em>\u201cThere is nothing I say in the book that isn\u2019t documented,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0he said, pointing out that several other coronavirus dissenters are selling their books on the platform without incident.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0political analyst is far from the first to run afoul of Amazon\u2019s increasingly stringent censorship.
