Check out a shortlist of the content the platform has removed in recent times.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Earlier this month, Instagram <a href=\"https:\/\/summit.news\/2020\/10\/07\/instagram-bans-qanon-accounts-but-refuses-to-remove-isis-accounts-celebrating-9-11\/\">announced<\/a> that it would be banning all QAnon accounts due to their alleged promotion of \u201creal world harm,\u201d yet simultaneously refused to ban ISIS accounts that celebrated 9\/11, arguing, as in the case of the \u2018black art\u2019 image, that glorifying terrorist attacks was a form of alternative expression.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Last month we <a href=\"https:\/\/summit.news\/2020\/09\/29\/instagram-promotes-obesity-while-refusing-ads-for-weight-loss-programs\/\">highlighted<\/a> how Instagram was promoting images of obese people in the name of \u2018body positivity\u2019 while refusing to accept healthy eating ads which include photos that show people with well toned bodies.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Last year, Instagram started <a href=\"https:\/\/summit.news\/2019\/12\/20\/instagram-fact-checks-meme-saying-hillary-killed-jeffrey-epstein\/\">\u2018fact checking\u2019<\/a> and removing memes, including obvious satire such as a meme that said Hillary Clinton had killed Jeffrey Epstein.
