“I Did Not Recant”: USPS Whistleblower Stands By Backdated Ballot Claim<\/h1>\n

On Tuesday evening, the\u00a0Washington Post<\/em><\/a>\u00a0wrote that USPS whistleblower Richard Hopkins ‘admitted to fabricating’ allegations of voter fraud, when he claimed in a\u00a0Project Veritas<\/em>\u00a0video<\/a>\u00a0that he overheard a postmaster in Erie, Pennsylvania instructing postal workers\u00a0to collect and backdate ballots received after election day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Citing “people who spoke on the condition of anonymity,” the\u00a0Post<\/em>\u00a0now\u00a0<\/strong>says that Hopkins – a Marine combat veteran – “signed an affidavit recanting his claims.<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Hopkins, however,\u00a0says he did not recant<\/strong><\/em><\/u>.<\/p>\n

In a Tuesday night interview with\u00a0Project Veritas<\/em>\u00a0founder James O’Keefe,\u00a0Hopkins says he was intimidated and coerced\u00a0<\/strong>by federal investigators with the USPS Inspector General’s office.<\/p>\n

“They were grilling the hell out of me,” says Hopkins, adding “I feel like I just got played.”<\/p>\n

Hours after the\u00a0Post<\/em>‘s claim, O’Keefe tweeted a recording<\/strong>\u00a0of Hopkins’ interview with IG employee Russel Strasser.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“I am trying to twist you a little bit, believe it or not, because in that –\u00a0your mind will kick in<\/strong><\/u>,” said Strasser.<\/p>\n

“Okay,” says Hopkins.<\/p>\n

“We like to control our mind<\/strong>,” Strasser continues. “And when we do that,\u00a0we can convince ourselves of a memory<\/strong>. But\u00a0when you’re under a little bit of stress, which is what I’m doing to you purposely, your mind can be a little bit clearer<\/strong><\/u>\u00a0and we’re going to do a different exerciser too, to make your mind a little bit clearer. So, but\u00a0this is all on purpose<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

“Roger,” replies Hopkins.<\/p>\n

“I am not scaring you. But I am scaring you,” he continued.<\/p>\n

At the end of the interview with O’Keefe, Hopkins says that he stands by his original claim.\u00a0<\/strong>Meanwhile, O’Keefe says there is\u00a0more coming tomorrow on this<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
