The election contest<\/a>\u00a0(pdf<\/a>), filed in\u00a0Carson City District Court by Nevada Electoral College candidates who pledged to President Donald Trump,\u00a0is contesting the results of the presidential election in Nevada. It\u00a0alleges \u201csubstantial irregularities, improprieties, and fraud\u201d that occurred in the election,<\/strong>\u00a0and that Nevada election officials put in effect\u00a0an election system that was \u201chighly susceptible to fraud and abuse.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cEvidence will show that the nature and scale of that fraud and abuse renders the purported results of the Nevada election illegitimate,\u201d the lawsuit read.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Former Nevada Attorney General and Trump campaign Nevada Co-Chair Adam Laxalt said that the lawsuit alleges many mail-in votes were \u201cimproperly cast.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe are presenting today in our formal contest, that\u00a0there are north of 15,000 people who voted in Nevada and another state.\u00a0<\/strong>We are presenting that people that had already done a change of address and left the state outside of the 30 day requirement, their ballots were still cast.\u00a0We are also presenting dead voters<\/strong>,\u201d he told a news conference on Tuesday.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n He took issue with Clark County\u2019s system whereby a complaint has to be lodged in order for an issue to be investigated regarding a contested vote.<\/p>\n \u201cI will only leave one example:\u00a0If a person has died, and that ballot was mailed to someone\u2019s home, and someone voted that ballot, who is going to complain about that vote cast? No one, quite clearly.\u00a0So the system isn\u2019t investigating these things,\u201d Laxalt said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Among other alleged voting irregularities raised, the lawsuit took issue with the reliability of the signature scanning machine used in Clark County, Laxalt said.<\/strong>\u00a0He pointed to\u00a0how no professional election integrity body has certified the machine, and how election personnel manually adjusted the factory settings of the machines to 40 percent of a signature match.<\/p>\n Chair of the American Conservative Union and\u00a0Trump campaign representative Matt Schlapp on Tuesday denounced the widespread\u00a0unsolicited mail-in ballots across the state. This,\u00a0coupled with various changes in Nevada election rules just before Election Day that allegedly decreased ballot security and\u00a0\u201calmost\u201d eliminated signature verification,\u00a0<\/strong>have resulted in unprecedented voting irregularities in Clark County, he said.<\/p>\n The county has seen multiple complaints over voting irregularities. On Monday, the county\u00a0tossed results of a local election<\/a>\u00a0after a canvass showed 139 discrepancies in a battleground district.<\/p>\n \u201cIn all my years in politics, I have never seen the types of voter irregularity we have seen in Clark County,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0he told a news conference.<\/p>\n \u201cThe zeal to push reckless unsolicited mail-in voting resulted in 50 percent of ballots coming through the mail and a tenfold increase in mail ballots in Clark County \u2026\u00a0Nevada and Clark County have created this crisis, reckless unsolicited mail in voting has created this crisis.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The\u00a0Clark County Election Department and the Nevada secretary of state did not immediately respond to The Epoch Times\u2019 request for comment.<\/p>\n Biden\u00a0declared victory<\/a>\u00a0over the 2020 presidential election on Nov. 7 although the\u00a0538 electors of the electoral college have yet to elect the next president.
