Making Sense Of The News About Sidney Powell<\/h1>\n

Update (1000ET):<\/strong><\/u>\u00a0Sidney Powell has issued a statement providing more details, and perhaps confirming the findings below that this is a funding issue… (emphasis ours)<\/p>\n

I agree with the campaign’s statement that I am not part of the campaign’s legal team.<\/strong>\u00a0I never signed a retainer agreement or sent the President or the campaign a bill for my expenses or fees.<\/em><\/p>\n

My intent has always been to expose all the fraud I could find and let the chips fall where they may<\/strong>–whether it be upon Republicans or Democrats.<\/em><\/p>\n

The evidence I’m compiling is overwhelming that this software tool was used to shift millions of votes from President Trump and other Republican candidates to Biden and other Democrat candidates.\u00a0 We are proceeding to prepare our lawsuit and plan to file it this week.\u00a0\u00a0It will be epic.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\nAs AmericanThinker.com’s Andrea Widburg detailed extensively earlier, you probably already know that Trump\u2019s legal team announced that Sidney Powell is not a team member. The\u00a0brief statement<\/a>\u00a0leaves unanswered the most important question: \u201cWhy?\u201d\u00a0Absent solid information, speculation leads us either to \u201cThis is the beginning of the end\u201d or \u201cThis is all part of the plan\u201d \u2013 and I\u2019m leaning to the latter.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Events happened with head-spinning speed<\/strong>. On Thursday, Trump\u2019s legal team held a press conference. Rudy Giuliani talked about traditional voter fraud (cemetery voters, faked ballots, etc.); Sidney Powell talked about corrupt, or corruptible, election software, a familiar topic to the\u00a0State of Texas<\/a>\u00a0NPR<\/a>, and\u00a0MSNBC<\/a>; and Jenna Ellison reminded the press that the conference was not an evidentiary hearing but was, instead, an opening statement.<\/p>\n

For over a week, Powell has been making the media rounds, asserting that the system used in several states — Dominion Software, running on Smartmatic machines \u2013 originated in Venezuela when Hugo Chavez wanted a system that could cleanly swing elections his way. She spoke about votes being counted abroad, software changes, and vote manipulation over the internet.<\/p>\n

While her numbers were breathtaking (Trump \u201chad at least 80 million votes<\/a>\u201d), Powell\u2019s stated facts tracked available information<\/strong>: Smartmatic\u00a0came out of Venezuela<\/a>; in 2007, Smartmatic announced that it was\u00a0selling its Sequoia Voting Systems to Dominion<\/a>; the chairman of Smartmatic\u2019s board is a\u00a0George Soros crony<\/a>; the system is\u00a0easily hackable<\/a>; Georgia\u2019s\u00a0system was vulnerable<\/a>; and the\u00a0data<\/a>\u00a0coming<\/a>\u00a0out<\/a>\u00a0of<\/a>\u00a0the<\/a>\u00a0swing<\/a>\u00a0states<\/a>\u00a0shows anomalies that cannot occur naturally. (You can see all the known evidence\u00a0here<\/a>.) These facts made Powell\u2019s contentions sound credible.<\/p>\n

On Thursday and Friday, there was\u00a0a public spat<\/a>\u00a0between Tucker Carlson and Powell. Carlson claimed Powell had no evidence and got nasty when he pushed; Powell asserted that she offered evidence but Tucker got nasty because it wasn\u2019t when he wanted.<\/p>\n

This spat put Trump supporters in the uncomfortable position<\/strong>\u00a0of choosing between, on the one hand, a lawyer who took on the federal government and proved that it\u2019s attack on Gen. Michael Flynn was a set-up intended to take down both Flynn and then newly-elected President Trump and, on the other hand, a television personality who\u2019s been braver than most in calling out leftism and standing up against his own company\u2019s quisling tendencies. The Washington Examiner added the claim that \u201csources close to the president<\/a>\u201d say Powell lacks evidence, which explains the distancing. Ask yourself if any \u201csources close to\u201d Trump have ever been correct? They\u2019re\u00a0invariably NeverTrumpers<\/a>. It\u2019s possible that this time the source could be correct but I caution patience.<\/p>\n
