Critics quickly recalled a similar \u201cstunt\u201d when he drank newly cleaned water in Flint, Michigan.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI promise you that when it\u2019s been made for people who are less at risk, I will be taking it,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Obama said of a potential vaccine in a SiriusXM r<em>adio interview released on Thursday. \u201cI may end up taking it on TV or having it filmed, just so that people know that I trust this science,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0he added.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, critics immediately pounced on the comment,\u00a0comparing it to his response to the Flint water crisis.<\/p>\n<p>The infamous health disaster began in 2014, when, due to mismanagement, water pipes succumbed to corrosion and contaminated the city\u2019s supply with lead. The Flint water crisis resulted in at least 12 deaths \u2013 and thousands of people, including children, were exposed to lead, which prompted health and cognitive issues.<\/p>\n<p>In that context, Obama\u2019s promised attempt to dissuade fears around a potential coronavirus vaccine was called yet \u2018another stunt,\u2019 done only for publicity.<em>\u00a0\u201cThe fact that Flint still doesn\u2019t have clean water is crazy but mostly sad,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0tweeted one commenter.<\/p>\n<p>One person joked that Obama should wash the vaccine down\u00a0<em>\u201cwith a Flint water chaser.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIf Obama takes the vaccine, I\u2019m definitely waiting,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0quipped another one.<\/p>\n<div class=\"rtcode\">\n<div class=\"twitter-tweet
