{"id":41866,"date":"2020-12-15T18:35:31","date_gmt":"2020-12-15T22:35:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=41866"},"modified":"2020-12-15T18:35:31","modified_gmt":"2020-12-15T22:35:31","slug":"voting-machine-company-smartmatic-delivered-legal-notices-to-three-conservative-news-networks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=41866","title":{"rendered":"Voting Machine Company Smartmatic Delivered Legal Notices to Three Conservative News Networks"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Vote Machine Company Threatens Legal Action Against Conservative Media<\/h1>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Demands retractions from Fox News, Newsmax, OAN for spreading \u201cdisinformation\u201d<\/h3>\n<p>Steve Watson<br \/>\nSUMMIT NEWS<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_41867\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-41867\" class=\"size-full wp-image-41867\" src=\"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/GettyImages-825588258.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/GettyImages-825588258.jpg 800w, https:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/GettyImages-825588258-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/GettyImages-825588258-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-41867\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Photo by RONALDO SCHEMIDT\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Voting Machine company Smartmatic has delivered legal notices to three conservative news networks, demanding retractions of claims that the company was involved in rigging the election in favour of Joe Biden.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2020\/12\/14\/media\/smartmatic-fox-news-newsmax-oan\/index.html?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+rss%2Fcnn_topstories+%28RSS%3A+CNN+-+Top+Stories%29\">reports<\/a>, Smartmatic has issued legal notices to Fox News, OAN and Newsmax, accusing the networks of a \u201ccampaign [that] was designed to defame Smartmatic and undermine a legitimately conducted elections.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The company is said to have accused Fox News of having \u201cembarked on a disinformation campaign against Smartmatic,\u201d\u00a0by allowing Trump lawyers Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell to make claims of vote fraud.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver the course of the campaign, Fox News published and republished dozens of false and misleading statements regarding Smartmatic,\u201d\u00a0the notice is said to read.<\/p>\n<p>The legal notice also reportedly claims there is \u201cno evidence or credible source to support\u201d the vote rigging claims, and that anyone \u201cwould have easily discovered the falsity of the statements and implications being made about Smartmatic by performing even a modicum of investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The legal notice is also said to have specifically named Fox News hosts Lou Dobbs, Jesse Watters, and Maria Bartiromo, and indicates that Smartmatic could pursue legal action against them personally:<\/p>\n<div id=\"in-article\">\n<div class=\"ad\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"twitter-tweet twitter-tweet-rendered\"><iframe id=\"twitter-widget-0\" class=\"\" title=\"Twitter Tweet\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/embed\/index.html?dnt=true&amp;embedId=twitter-widget-0&amp;frame=false&amp;hideCard=false&amp;hideThread=false&amp;id=1338527461206876162&amp;lang=en&amp;origin=https%3A%2F%2Fsummit.news%2F2020%2F12%2F15%2Fvote-machine-company-threatens-legal-action-against-conservative-media%2F&amp;theme=light&amp;widgetsVersion=ed20a2b%3A1601588405575&amp;width=550px\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-tweet-id=\"1338527461206876162\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>\u201cSmartmatic demands a full and complete retraction of all false and defamatory statements reports published by Fox News.
