{"id":42259,"date":"2020-12-18T11:02:20","date_gmt":"2020-12-18T15:02:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=42259"},"modified":"2020-12-18T11:02:20","modified_gmt":"2020-12-18T15:02:20","slug":"gretchen-the-grinch-steals-christmas-from-michigan-children","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=42259","title":{"rendered":"Gretchen the Grinch Steals Christmas from Michigan Children"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Governor Gretchen Whitmer Uses Santa Zoom Call to Tell Kids Not to Visit Their Families at Christmas<\/h1>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Kids given scripted questions about COVID to ask Santa.<\/h3>\n<p>Paul Joseph Watson<br \/>\nSUMMIT News<\/p>\n<p><strong>Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer used a zoom call involving Santa Claus and scripted questions from children to push the message that families should not visit each other over Christmas.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yes, really.<\/p>\n<p>Whitmer introduced Santa Claus to the 6 groups of children before inviting them to ask Santa questions, almost all of which were about COVID-19 rules and had obviously been scripted for them.<\/p>\n<p>Asked by one of the kids if he had to wear a mask, Santa said him and his elves are \u201call masked up and social distancing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Father Christmas was subsequently asked if coronavirus had reached the North Pole, to which he responded that no one was taking any chances and that \u201cwe\u2019re all gonna mask up, we\u2019re all gonna wash our hands, and we\u2019re all gonna stay six feet apart.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>All of the children on one of the zoom calls were seen wearing masks.<\/p>\n<div class=\"twitter-tweet twitter-tweet-rendered\"><iframe id=\"twitter-widget-4\" class=\"\" title=\"Twitter Tweet\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/embed\/index.html?dnt=true&amp;embedId=twitter-widget-4&amp;frame=false&amp;hideCard=false&amp;hideThread=false&amp;id=1339231330891161604&amp;lang=en&amp;origin=https%3A%2F%2Fsummit.news%2F2020%2F12%2F17%2Fgovernor-gretchen-whitmer-uses-santa-zoom-call-to-tell-kids-not-to-visit-their-families-at-christmas%2F&amp;theme=light&amp;widgetsVersion=ed20a2b%3A1601588405575&amp;width=550px\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-tweet-id=\"1339231330891161604\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Another one of the children then said they would leave out \u201chand sanitizer\u201d once Santa is finished with the cookies and milk.<\/p>\n<p>Santa urged everyone \u201cto do what the Governor is telling all the people of the great state of Michigan to do,\u201d which includes the instruction to \u201cwear your mask when you\u2019re outside your home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whitmer then said that families should \u201cstay home\u201d and not visit each other and instead, \u201ccall your grandparents and your cousins and your family and it\u2019s the safest way to tell the people you love how much you care about them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year, it has to look a little bit different so we can stay safe,\u201d said Whitmer<\/p>\n<p>Respondents to the video expressed their revulsion at the message being pushed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat kind of a parent would make their kids participate in this???\u201d asked one.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEdward Bernays would feel proud if he saw this,\u201d remarked another.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWow.
