A doctor in Northern California has been fired from his job after he co-authored a letter that questioned the science behind his county\u2019s lockdown order.<\/p>\n
Dr. Michael deBoisblanc was working as the trauma medical director for John Muir Health in Contra Costa County,\u00a0California<\/a>, until last Friday, after he questioned the scientific basis for again locking down citizens of the area.<\/p>\n KNTV<\/a> reported that deBoisblanc wrote a letter to the county health director and board of supervisors voicing his concern regarding the continued lockdown policies prior to his dismissal.<\/p>\n The former medical director spoke from his own experience as a parent, expressing his apprehension that Bay Area\u00a0students<\/a>\u00a0were not being allowed to attend in-person classes, according to\u00a0KTVU-TV<\/a>.<\/p>\n Along with doctors Pete Mazolewski and Brian Hopkins, deBoisblanc wrote that there were \u201cdeep concerns regarding more lockdown measures.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe science is clear,\u201d the letter continued, \u201cthat more lockdowns lead to much more non COVID morbidity and mortality.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cPublic policy is being based on erroneous assumptions,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n The trauma physician said \u201cwe\u2019re worried some of the actions the county and government is taking can definitely have negative impacts on the public health,\u201d according to KTVU.<\/p>\n
