A federal judge on Monday shot down Ghislaine Maxwell\u2019s proposed\u00a0$28.5 million<\/a>\u00a0bail package, saying she still believes the accused Jeffrey Epstein madam is a flight risk.<\/p>\n While US District Judge Alison Nathan\u2019s full order was filed under seal, she released a two-page summary describing her reasons for rejecting the British socialite\u2019s second bid for home confinement.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Court concludes that none of the new information that the Defendant presented in support of her application has a material bearing on the Court\u2019s determination that she poses a flight risk,\u201d wrote Nathan, who said that in reaching her decision, she considered the nature of the crime, the weight of the evidence and Maxwell\u2019s background.<\/p>\n Shortly after the Maxwell\u2019s arrest in July, the same judge refused to release her to home confinement on a $5 million bond, calling her financial declarations cagey and raising concerns over her holding a UK and a French passport.<\/p>\n In a desperate bid to get her sprung from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, Maxwell\u2019s lawyers submitted the massive bail package \u2014 that she said represents all of the assets held by her and her husband, tech CEO Scott Borgerson.<\/p>\n Maxwell, the daughter of disgraced media titan Robert Maxwell, has repeatedly complained about the\u00a0unbearable conditions\u00a0<\/a>in lockup.<\/p>\n She is charged with\u00a0recruiting and grooming<\/a>\u00a0three girls to be sexually abused by her and Epstein in the 1990s and then lying about it.<\/p>\n Maxwell has\u00a0denied the allegations<\/a>.<\/p>\n ___ Judge rejects Ghislaine Maxwell\u2019s $28.5M bail package By Rebecca Rosenberg New York Post A federal judge on Monday shot down Ghislaine Maxwell\u2019s proposed\u00a0$28.5 million\u00a0bail package, saying she still believes the accused Jeffrey Epstein madam is a flight risk.
