{"id":44286,"date":"2020-12-29T10:21:00","date_gmt":"2020-12-29T14:21:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=44286"},"modified":"2020-12-29T10:21:19","modified_gmt":"2020-12-29T14:21:19","slug":"this-is-how-the-coviteers-are-preventing-anti-lockdown-leaders-from-emerging","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=44286","title":{"rendered":"This is how the Coviteers are preventing anti-lockdown leaders from emerging."},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Organiser Of London Anti-Lockdown Protest Could Be Fined \u00a310,000<\/h1>\n<p><!--more-->by Lily Zhou<br \/>\nThe Epoch Times<\/p>\n<p><strong>The organiser of an anti-<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-lockdown\">lockdown<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-protest\">protest<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-london\">London<\/a>\u00a0is facing the prospect of a\u00a0\u00a310,000 ($13,488) fine,<\/strong>\u00a0the Metropolitan Police said on Monday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/london-anti-lockdown-protest-new-scotland-yard-700x420.jpg?itok=5wvOl4nT\" data-image-external-href=\"\" data-image-href=\"\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/london-anti-lockdown-protest-new-scotland-yard-700x420.jpg?itok=5wvOl4nT\" data-link-option=\"0\"><picture><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/zh-prod-1cc738ca-7d3b-4a72-b792-20bd8d8fa069.storage.googleapis.com\/s3fs-public\/styles\/inline_image_mobile\/public\/inline-images\/london-anti-lockdown-protest-new-scotland-yard-700x420.jpg?itok=5wvOl4nT\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"300\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"40ec8aef-f44e-4cf9-a296-aa64f5807b0e\" data-responsive-image-style=\"inline_images\" \/><\/picture><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Met said that officers were called\u00a0on Sunday afternoon to find about 100 people gathering in Ray Lane, Southwark, in what appeared to be a pre-planned protest.<\/p>\n<div class=\"Advert_desktop__1J5vD Advert_tablet__3QEBr Advert_mobile__1rlLc Advert_align__N0_fw Advert_placement__1I4yb\"><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cThis sort of gathering is specifically prohibited under the tier four restrictions brought in following the recent rapid rise in cases,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0Acting Inspector David Smith said in a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.met.police.uk\/news\/officers-attend-protest-in-south-london-418280\">statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe all have a responsibility to follow the rules, stay at home as much as possible, and help stop the rapid spread of COVID-19 in our city,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cAnyone coordinating intentional breaches on this scale should know they risk very significant financial penalties,\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Met said that the organiser, a 58-year-old man, will be reported for\u00a0the consideration of a fixed penalty notice of up to \u00a310,000.<\/p>\n<p>London is currently under tier four restrictions to curb the spread of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/giving-the-right-name-to-the-virus-causing-a-worldwide-pandemic-2_3277200.html\">CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus<\/a>, following the discovery of a new variant of the virus that authorities say is more infectious.\u00a0<strong>Residents have been told to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/tier-4-stay-at-home\">stay at home<\/a>\u00a0unless they have a \u201creasonable excuse\u201d to leave their houses.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under the Health Protection Regulations 2020, gatherings organised by a business; a charitable, benevolent, or philanthropic institution; a public body; or a political body can take place if the organiser carries out a risk assessment that satisfies regulations and takes all reasonable measures to limit the risk of transmission.<\/p>\n<p>On Dec. 19, the Met\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/london-police-arrest-29-following-anti-lockdown-protests_3625731.html\">arrested<\/a>\u00a029 protesters after they allegedly refused to cooperate with police.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Met said on Dec. 20 that the female organizer of one of the protests, which was attended by around 150 people, had been reported for consideration of a \u00a310,000 fixed penalty notice.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"Advert_desktop__1J5vD Advert_align__N0_fw Advert_placement__1I4yb\"><\/div>\n<p>Three men,\u00a0Christmas Fallah, 35,\u00a0Joss Lillis, 27, and\u00a0Leon Larose, 28, \u201chave been charged under Health Protection Regulations with participating in a gathering of two or more people. All three men were also charged with assaulting an emergency worker,\u201d the Met said in a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.met.police.uk\/news\/westminster-protest-organiser-facing-10000-pounds-fine-417988\">statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe majority of the other 26 people arrested were issued with fixed penalty notices for breaching Health Protection Regulations. A number of other people attending the protest were also issued with fixed penalty notices but were not arrested,\u201d the statement reads.<\/p>\n<h2>Lockdowns Modelled After Chinese Regime: Former SAGE Adviser<\/h2>\n<p>After the Chinese regime started to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/chinas-senior-health-officials-struggle-to-answer-questions-about-coronavirus-as-another-city-is-under-full-lockdown_3219647.html\">lock down cities<\/a>\u00a0in January, many Western countries adopted similar methods to attempt to control the spread of the virus.<\/p>\n<p>Neil Ferguson, an Imperial College professor who was a government adviser for the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) until May, said the government didn\u2019t think it was possible to use lockdowns in the UK in the same way as in China.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cIt\u2019s a communist one party state, we said. We couldn\u2019t get away with it in Europe, we thought,\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>Ferguson told\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.co.uk\/edition\/news\/people-don-t-agree-with-lockdown-and-try-to-undermine-the-scientists-gnms7mp98?t=ie\">The Times of London<\/a>\u00a0last week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cAnd then Italy did it. And we realised we could.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Ferguson said that the data from China showed lockdown was \u201can effective policy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ferguson quit SAGE in May after he was caught breaking\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-ccp-virus\">CCP virus<\/a>\u00a0restrictions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By March 11, when the WHO declared COVID-19 a pandemic, Chinese officials reported 3,169 deaths from the CCP virus, but information provided by residents at the epicenter of the virus in Wuhan, China, indicated that the real death toll there could be\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/real-death-toll-in-wuhan-might-be-12-times-official-figure-ashes-urns-tell-us_3289749.html\">12.7 times the official figure<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/new-book-warns-about-adopting-pandemic-policies-out-of-panic-disproportionate-to-the-problem_3605278.html\">new book<\/a>\u00a0by Canadian scholars said that Ottawa adopted large-scale lockdowns after Ferguson\u2019s report in March predicted tens of millions of deaths worldwide.<\/p>\n<p><strong>But Ferguson\u2019s model has since been found to be greatly flawed,<\/strong>\u00a0according to the Montreal Economic Institute and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/beware-of-the-limitations-of-covid-19-modelling-reports-warn_3424054.html\">others<\/a>.
