{"id":48141,"date":"2021-01-16T22:51:45","date_gmt":"2021-01-17T02:51:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=48141"},"modified":"2021-01-16T22:51:45","modified_gmt":"2021-01-17T02:51:45","slug":"is-this-what-happens-when-you-eat-too-much-sweet-n-low","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=48141","title":{"rendered":"Is this what happens when you eat too much Sweet N&#8217; Low?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>89 Year Old Donald Tober, Who Popularized Sweet N&#8217; Low, Jumps To His Death From Park Ave. Apartment<\/h1>\n<p><!--more-->ZeroHedge.com<\/p>\n<p><strong>An 89 year old business magnate who was &#8220;struggling with Parkinson&#8217;s disease&#8221; leapt to his death from the top of his Park Ave. apartment building last week,\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Donald Tober, who was CEO and co-owner of Sugar Foods &#8211; the company best known for Sweet n&#8217; Low &#8211; jumped from his building just after 5AM on Friday, according to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/01\/15\/sweetn-low-magnate-leaps-to-death-from-nyc-apartment\/\">NY Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He was found &#8220;in the courtyard of the luxury Upper East Side building between 65th and 66th streets&#8221;, the report notes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tober was responsible for taking the\u00a0Sweet n&#8217; Low brand and making it into a restaurant and home mainstay<\/strong>. His company also produced &#8220;Sugar in the Raw&#8221; and &#8220;N&#8217;Joy&#8221; coffee creamer. 80% of all foodservice establishments used\u00a0Sweet n&#8217; Low by the mid 1990&#8217;s, the Post said.<\/p>\n<p>He had described his company in 1995 by saying: \u201cBasically, we\u2019re concerned with everything that surrounds the coffee cup. We\u2019re tightly focused.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/DT.jpg?itok=PYSry8iD\" data-image-external-href=\"\" data-image-href=\"\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/DT.jpg?itok=PYSry8iD\" data-link-option=\"0\"><picture><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/zh-prod-1cc738ca-7d3b-4a72-b792-20bd8d8fa069.storage.googleapis.com\/s3fs-public\/styles\/inline_image_mobile\/public\/inline-images\/DT.jpg?itok=PYSry8iD\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"412\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"b4c06c61-8e85-4515-b512-d790c6af4317\" data-responsive-image-style=\"inline_images\" \/><\/picture><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cDonald IS Sweet\u2019N Low,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0the company&#8217;s President, Steve Odell, had said at the time.\u00a0\u201cDon\u2019s had as much to do with building Sweet\u2019N Low into a household name as anyone ever has with a product. Every packet of Sweet\u2019N Low sold today can be traced back to a single sales call that he probably made or at least had a part in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Odell continued:\u00a0\u201cHe was bigger than life. He made everybody feel special \u2014 everybody. He\u2019s an icon and he\u2019ll always be.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cI talked to him yesterday and certainly, no. There was no indication whatsoever,\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>he said, when asked about the suicide.<\/p>\n<p>Odell concluded:\u00a0\u201cHe was much more than just one product. A thousand people a second use our products.\u00a0Donald left us with eight words, and we live them every day.
