Get Ready for COVID-21: CDC Warns New Viral Strain to Become Dominant in US by March<\/h1>\n

Here we go again, folks! The psyop continues to march forward now that \u201cnew coronavirus variants\u201d (COVID-21) have been identified. It seems that the draconian measures initiated last spring (that never completely went away) may once again rear their ugly heads again in the U.S this spring.<\/p>\n

CDC Warns of New (COVID-21) Variants<\/h3>\n

The January 15 edition of CDC\u2019s\u00a0Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report<\/em><\/a>\u00a0(MMWR) indicates that the coronavirus mutations hitting the UK will slam the U.S. very soon.<\/p>\n

The new UK SARS-CoV-2 variant has been identified as B.1.1.7 and is believed to be \u201cmore efficiently transmitted than are other SARS-CoV-2 variants (1\u20133).\u201d The report indicates that \u201cas of January 13, 2021, approximately 76 cases of B.1.1.7 have been detected in 10 U.S. states.\u201d<\/p>\n

The MMWR further predicts that \u201cthe modeled trajectory of this variant in the U.S. exhibits rapid growth in early 2021, becoming the predominant variant in March.\u201d<\/p>\n

The B.1.1.7. variant is not the only recent mutation to surface. At least two additional variants have been identified in other countries according to the \u00a0report:<\/p>\n

In addition to the B.1.1.7 variant, notable variants include the B.1.351 lineage first detected in South Africa and the recently identified B.1.1.28 subclade (renamed \u201cP.1\u201d) detected in four travelers from Brazil during routine screening at the Haneda (Tokyo) airport.<\/em><\/p>\n

Evidence suggests that other mutations found in these variants might confer not only increased transmissibility but might also affect the performance of some diagnostic real-time reverse transcription\u2013polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) assays and reduce susceptibility to neutralizing antibodies.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Though prevalence of the new variant is currently unknown in the U.S., the MMWR report recommends acting now\u00a0to reduce the impact of the highly transmissible B.1.1.7 SARS-CoV-2 strain. The report further states:<\/p>\n

The increased transmissibility of the B.1.1.7 variant warrants rigorous implementation of public health strategies to reduce transmission and lessen the potential impact of B.1.1.7, buying critical time to increase vaccination coverage.<\/em><\/p>\n

CDC\u2019s modeling data show that universal use of and increased compliance with mitigation measures and vaccination are crucial to reduce the number of new cases and deaths substantially in the coming months.<\/em><\/p>\n
