Today \u2013 Friday 15th January \u2013 over 50,000 restaurants are planning to open, an act of mass civil disobedience against \u201canti-Covid\u201d lockdown measures which have massively hurt the restaurant business, especially small family-owned businesses.<\/p>\n

Spreading through social media under the hashtag #IoOpro (\u201cI am opening\u201d), the movement is largest country-wide act of civil disobedience since lockdowns began.<\/p>\n

Italain opposition MP Vittorio Sgarbi has backed the movement, saying in\u00a0an interview<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Open up, & don\u2019t worry, in the end we will make them eat their fines\u201d.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Italy\u2019s government is already\u00a0facing internal conflict and crisis<\/a>, an early election is a possibility.<\/p>\n

A similar movement already started in Mexico on January 12th, when hundreds of restaurant owners gathered to protest the lockdowns:<\/p>\n
