Doctor Tells NBC Americans Should Consider Wearing FOUR Face Masks<\/h1>\n

Doctor Scott Segal told NBC News that Americans should consider wearing FOUR face masks if they want the most effective protection against spreading COVID-19.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yes, really.<\/p>\n

As we\u00a0highlighted yesterday<\/a>, Dr. Fauci advised Americans to begin wearing two masks, saying that it \u201cmakes common sense\u201d for more than one layer to be more effective.<\/p>\n

However, Fauci was outdone by researchers at Virginia Tech, who said that two face masks only provide 50-75% efficacy and that three masks should be worn to achieve 90% effectiveness.<\/p>\n

But why stop at 90 per cent?<\/p>\n

According to Dr. Scott Segal, chair of anesthesiology at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, even that may not be enough.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you put three or\u00a0four<\/strong>\u00a0masks on, it\u2019s going to filter better because it\u2019s more layers of cloth,\u201d Segal told\u00a0NBC News<\/a>.<\/p>\n
