Kim Kardashian<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0filed to divorce\u00a0Kanye West<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0on Friday, Feb. 19,\u00a0after six years of marriage<\/a>, E! News confirmed.<\/p>\n The spouses have agreed on joint custody for their four kids,\u00a0North<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0Saint<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0Chicago<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Psalm<\/strong><\/a>, and neither Kim nor Kanye are contesting their prenup, according to a source close to Kim.<\/p>\n The source exclusively tells E! News that\u00a0the split is “very amicable”\u00a0<\/a>and gave insight into how the\u00a0Keeping Up With the Kardashians<\/a><\/em>\u00a0star is coping. “Kim is doing OK,” the source says. “She’s mostly worried about her privacy and kids.\u00a0She’s a mama bear and protective of her kids.”<\/p>\n Kim’s attorney\u00a0Laura Wasser<\/strong>, who is representing her amid the divorce,\u00a0could not be reached for comment.<\/p>\n E! News reported last month that while the 40 year old\u00a0was considering divorce<\/a>,\u00a0the couple had been in\u00a0marriage counseling<\/a>. So what finally changed and made her pull the plug?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n The insider explains, “Kim was just tired of waiting. She tried to give it a chance. She wanted to do this last year. She gave it plenty of time but it’s just time to move on.”\u00a0And before you start thinking of\u00a0those<\/em>\u00a0Jeffree Star<\/strong>\u00a0rumors<\/a>, think again. Adds the insider, “There were no affairs. No one did anything bad. They grew apart.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n Kim and Ye are committed to co-parenting, although the “Famous” rapper “hasn’t been around much,” the source says. Their four kids have mostly been with Kim at her home in Calabasas, Calif., in recent weeks.<\/p>\n “North has some understanding of what’s going on,” the source adds. “But mostly the kids have always seen them apart so it isn’t super\u00a0surprising.”<\/p>\n Kanye, 43, has\u00a0been living in Wyoming<\/a>\u00a0and will likely\u00a0continue\u00a0to live there.\u00a0Though Kim\u00a0spoke out<\/a>\u00a0over the summer about\u00a0her husband’s bipolar disorder diagnosis, the source\u00a0says that the Grammy winner is “OK\u00a0right now” in terms of his mental health.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n A separate source close to Kim exclusively tells E! News, “Kim expressed to [the kids] that she loves their Dad but they need to be apart. They don’t fully understand what’s going on and are already used to the situation.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n The second insider notes\u00a0Kim is “definitely sad but she feels confident in her decision” to divorce him, because she knows it’s what’s best for herself and her family.\u00a0“She’s already felt like she’s been divorced for months now,” the source shares. “It’s been a long time coming and she feels relieved to be able to finally move on.”<\/p>\n However,\u00a0the secondary source says Yeezy\u00a0is “upset” about it deep down. He\u00a0didn’t want her to go through with the divorce, but agreed it was for the best. The same source continues, “He wishes they could have made it work. They came to agreements on all fronts and Kanye was understanding of Kim’s wishes.”<\/p>\n According to that source,\u00a0the SKIMS designer\u00a0decided to file on Friday after the stars\u00a0finally made\u00a0an agreement about dividing their assets.
