Customers who were on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/commodities\/variable-rate-electricity-plans-under-scrutiny-after-texas-power-bill-chaos\">variable cost plans<\/a>\u00a0saw their energy bills rocket into the thousands of dollars.
