The dollar-based long-term price predictions for bitcoin are flawed, according to cryptocurrency exchange Kraken\u2019s CEO Jesse Powell. He proposes measuring bitcoin in luxury car prices, due to the inflationary nature of fiat money.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I said bitcoin is going to infinity and that\u2019s kind-of hard to comprehend, because I\u2019m measuring it in terms of dollars,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Powell told Bloomberg, after being asked about the price prediction for the end of 2021.<\/p>\n

He offered alternative measures for valuing bitcoin, claiming that its value may increase from its current ‘price’ or one BTC per Tesla Model 3 to\u00a0\u201cone bitcoin per Lambo\u201d<\/em>\u00a0by the end of the year, and to\u00a0\u201cone bitcoin per Bugatti\u201d<\/em>\u00a0by 2023.<\/p>\n

“To the crypto community, I think those kinds of assets are easier to measure bitcoin against, because you never know where the dollar is going to be. There could be 10 times as many US dollars out there a year from now, so it\u2019s really hard to measure bitcoin against the dollar,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Powell explained.<\/p>\n

One bitcoin could have purchased a brand-new Honda Civic by the end of last year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said this month it is now possible to buy the company\u2019s vehicles in the United States using the cryptocurrency.\u00a0The businessman said:\u00a0\u201cYou can now buy a Tesla with Bitcoin.\u201d\u00a0<\/em>People outside the US will be able to buy a Tesla car with bitcoin\u00a0\u201clater this year,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0he added, without specifying which countries.<\/p>\n

The world\u2019s top crypto, bitcoin is rebounding from last week’s lows and is nearing $60,000 once again.\u00a0The ongoing rally above $59,000 is being fueled by news from\u00a0Visa\u00a0and\u00a0PayPal,\u00a0who said this week they are getting into bitcoin and cryptocurrency payments. Bitcoin was trading at $57,919 per coin at 09:38 GMT on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
