The Pentagon\u2019s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)\u00a0is working on a COVID vaccine that will work on all variants and has developed an implantable microchip that it says will continuously monitor the human body for signs of the virus.<\/strong><\/p>\n Retired Colonel Matt Hepburn, an army infectious disease physician heading up DARPA\u2019s response to the pandemic,\u00a0appeared on 60 Minutes<\/a>\u00a0to demonstrate the technology.<\/p>\n Holding up a vial of green tissue-like gel, which contains the chip, Hepburn proclaimed \u201cYou put it underneath your skin and what that tells you is that there are chemical reactions going on inside the body, and that signal means you are going to have symptoms tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s like a \u2018check engine\u2019 light,\u201d Hepburn added, noting that those with the chip \u201cwould get the signal, then self-administer a blood draw and test themselves on site.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe can have that information in three to five minutes,\u201d Hepburn continued, adding \u201cAs you truncate that time, as you diagnose and treat, what you do is you stop the infection in its tracks.\u201d<\/p>\n Watch:<\/p>\n
