Seth Rich<\/a>, the worker, was shot dead in the early morning hours on July 16, 2016, near his home in the nation\u2019s capital.<\/strong><\/p>\n The murder, which is unsolved to this day,\u00a0fueled widespread media coverage, especially after WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange suggested that Rich was the person who provided internal DNC emails to WikiLeaks. Rich\u2019s family has called the notion that Rich leaked documents to WikiLeaks a conspiracy theory.<\/p>\n The newly released files<\/a>\u00a0show top Department of Justice officials met in 2018 and discussed Rich\u2019s murder.\u00a0<\/strong>They reviewed Rich\u2019s financial records and did not identify any unusual deposits or withdrawals.<\/p>\n Additionally, none of the witnesses interviewed during the investigation reported to authorities anything unusual about Rich\u2019s life prior to the homicide.<\/p>\n One witness saw\u00a0an individual walking away from the location where Rich was killed but thought Rich was merely drunk so did not alert authorities<\/strong>. They realized something bad had happened when they saw a bloodstain on the ground in the same place the following day, as well as police tape surrounding the scene.<\/p>\n A person whose\u00a0name was redacted took Rich\u2019s personal laptop to his house<\/strong>, according to one of the newly released documents. The page also indicates that authorities were\u00a0not aware if the person deleted or changed anything<\/strong>\u00a0on Rich\u2019s personal laptop.<\/p>\n The FBI came into possession of Rich\u2019s work laptop, the bureau\u00a0previously revealed<\/a>.<\/p>\n On another page, it was said that\u00a0\u201cgiven [redacted] it is conceivable that an individual or group would want to pay for his death.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThat doesn\u2019t sound like a random street robbery,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0Ty Clevenger, a lawyer, told The Epoch Times.<\/p>\n Law enforcement officials have suggested Rich was the victim of an attempted robbery, according to news reports, though none of his belongings were stolen. Huddleston asked the FBI\u00a0to produce all data, documents, records, or communications that reference Seth Rich or his brother, Aaron Rich.<\/strong><\/p>\n A federal judge earlier this year ordered the FBI to produce documents concerning Rich by April 23. The FBI identified 576 relevant documents but only produced 68 of them to Huddleston.<\/p>\n The FBI has declined to speak about the lawsuit.
