{"id":63003,"date":"2021-04-30T17:31:37","date_gmt":"2021-04-30T21:31:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=63003"},"modified":"2021-04-30T17:31:37","modified_gmt":"2021-04-30T21:31:37","slug":"why-did-we-let-power-drunk-politicians-force-outdoor-masking-make-blm-rioters-exempt-from-the-virus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=63003","title":{"rendered":"Why did we let \u2018power-drunk politicians\u2019 force outdoor masking, make BLM rioters \u2018exempt from the virus\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more-->Posted by: Lizzy Murica<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">On the April 26 edition of \u201cTucker Carlson Tonight,\u201d host Tucker Carlson took on outdoor mask mandates, pointing out that those involved in Black Lives Matter riots appeared to be exempted, and encouraging his viewers to stand up to masking mandates not backed by science.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Carlson began by pointing to Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti as an inspiration for widespread mask mandates.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">He quoted orders from Garcetti in May of 2020 to:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>\u201cBring your mask with you whenever you leave home.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>\u201cThat will help us get more freedoms.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/video.foxnews.com\/v\/video-embed.html?video_id=6250589004001&amp;loc=lawenforcementtoday.com&amp;ref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.lawenforcementtoday.com%2Fwe-let-power-drunk-politicians-make-blm-rioters-exempt-from-virus%2F&amp;_xcf=\" width=\"466\" height=\"263\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" aria-label=\"More+Videos\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" data-slot-rendered-dynamic=\"true\">Carlson asserted that Garcetti received no pushback because \u201ca lot of the country was so terrified of the new pandemic\u201d that they didn\u2019t question the outdoor spread of coronavirus, nor the encroachment upon freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">As a result, he continued, other politicians \u201cwatched as it happened,\u201d and proceeded to act to take that sort of power for themselves, and found no pushback either.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Carlson went on to suggest that this would not have happened in past years, saying:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>\u201cWell, in a functioning democracy like we had just a few years ago, demands like that would be impossible to make. A politician might prefer that you wear a mask outdoors, but he couldn\u2019t make you do it.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>\u201cAt best, he\u2019d have to ask you nicely, he\u2019d have to show you the science and then try to convince you to follow his advice, one adult to another. The onus would be on him to make his case, the onus would not be on you to obey the command.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">He continued:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" data-slot-rendered-dynamic=\"true\"><b>\u201cBut over the course of the corona pandemic, the opposite happened, it was inverted, and it happened because large groups of people failed to resist it happening, so it kept happening.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>\u201cAnd as it did, it became more unreasonable and more disconnected from science day by day.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Tucker next reviewed scientific studies that bolstered his opinion on the unscientific nature of outdoor mask mandates.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">He cited a study from China, in which 318 coronavirus outbreaks were investigated.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Out of those, he said:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>\u201conly a single one could even plausibly be connected to a person who was outside.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In addition, Carlson noted that\u00a0<em>The Journal of Infectious Diseases<\/em>\u00a0reported in November of 2020 that \u201cthe odds of contracting the coronavirus outside were about 19 times lower than the risk of contracting it inside.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Those results, he added, were duplicated by a study in Japan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Carlson also quoted the New York Times as citing scientific studies that noted:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" data-slot-rendered-dynamic=\"true\"><b>\u201cFew, if any documented cases of brief outdoor interactions leading to COVID transmission.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<div id=\"content_3_btf_wrapper\" shared the recent words of Dr. Anthony Fauci, from an April 25 broadcast of ABC News\u2019 \u201cThis Week\u201d with George Stephanopoulos.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In the interview, Stephanopoulos asked Fauci:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" data-slot-rendered-dynamic=\"true\"><b>\u201cLet\u2019s talk about masks. I mean, you\u2019re seeing more and more talk about it. I know the C.D.C. is looking at perhaps revising their guidance about wearing masks outdoors at this time. Well, what\u2019s your best guidance on that at this point?\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Fauci responded:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>\u201cI don\u2019t want to get ahead of them, George, but I think it is pretty commonsense now that outdoor risk is really, really quite low particularly, I mean, if you are a vaccinated person, wearing a mask outdoors, I mean, obviously the risk is miniscule.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/video\/embed?id=77298809\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" data-slot-rendered-dynamic=\"true\">Carlson next reminded viewers of Fauci\u2019s famous appearance, maskless, at a baseball game, and also described the \u201ccharade\u201d of vaccinated Vice President Kamala Harris as she \u201costentatiously socially distances.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">He then continued by comparing how the Black Lives Matter rioters were treated, as opposed to the general public, saying:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>\u201cThe question is, why have we put up with it? We\u2019ve known this for a long time.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>\u201cWe\u2019ve done it for certain for almost a year since that day last June, when America\u2019s so-called public health community united as one to tell us that coronavirus restrictions do not apply to BLM rioters.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>\u201cThey\u2019re exempt from the virus.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">He added:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>\u201cYou\u2019re still not allowed to get married or go to church or see your elderly parents as they die alone, but if you break things on behalf of the Democratic Party\u2019s power structure, you can loot the Dollar Store and no one gets sick. That\u2019s science.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>\u201cThat\u2019s not an exaggeration. That\u2019s literally what they told us.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" data-slot-rendered-dynamic=\"true\">Carlson continued by discussing harm that masks can do to children.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">He gave an example of testimony at a school board from Colorado Springs teacher Stacy Adair, who presented the board with a photo, taken after one hour of use by a kindergartner, of a dirt-covered face mask.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Adair suggested to the school board that it was \u201cunhealthy for a student to breathe through this mask.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The school board, Carlson said, \u201cignored\u201d Adair and \u201cdoubled down\u201d on mask wearing.\u00a0 Carlson added that their edicts were supported by Colorado Governor Jared Polis, who instructed his constituents not to complain, and \u201cthreat[ened]\u201d:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>\u201cIf you keep whining about mask mandates, we will close the schools again.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Carlson added that \u201cwe should all be troubled by\u201d the fact that no one is asking how children are being harmed by mask wearing, including mask requirements for outdoor sports.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">He told his viewers:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>\u201cA physician called Mary Harrow told the Colorado Springs School Board that quote: \u2018The data are overwhelming on this topic.\u2019<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" data-slot-rendered-dynamic=\"true\"><b>\u201c\u2018Masks,\u2019 the doctor said, can quote: \u2018cause low oxygen and high carbon dioxide levels, shortness of breath, toxicity, inflammation, increased stress hormones and sugar in the body and create fear, anxiety, headaches, compromised cognitive performance and other problems.\u2019\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Carlson continued:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>\u201cDid you really need a medical degree to know that? People need fresh air, especially children. Deprive them of fresh air and you hurt them.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>\u201cYou knew that. We all knew that. It is obvious.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">He went on to say:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>\u201cMasks on a tennis court.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>\u201cFuture generations will mock us for this, but we allowed it.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>\u201cWe let power-drunk politicians wreck the country in exchange for promising to protect us from a virus that 99 percent of us would have survived anyway. What were we thinking?\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Carlson added his observations on the significance and meaning of masks, saying that they \u201cstrip people of their identity as individuals\u2026. isolate us, they alienate us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">He continued:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" data-slot-rendered-dynamic=\"true\"><b>\u201cMasks prevent intimacy and human contact. They are the aggressors. It\u2019s our job to brush them back and restore the society we were born in.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">He instructed his viewers:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>\u201cSo the next time you see someone in a mask on the sidewalk or on the bike path, do not hesitate, ask politely, but firmly, \u2018Would you please take off your mask? Science shows there is no reason for you to be wearing it. Your mask is making me uncomfortable.\u2019<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>\u201cWe should do that and we should keep doing it until wearing a mask outside is roughly as socially accepted as lighting a Marlboro in an elevator.
