Rudy Giuliani joined “Tucker Carlson Tonight<\/a>” Thursday for his first television interview since\u00a0the\u00a0FBI<\/a>\u00a0raided his New York City apartment\u00a0<\/a>and seized the former New York City mayor’s\u00a0electronic devices in connection with a probe of whether he violated the law by lobbying the\u00a0Trump<\/a>\u00a0administration on behalf of\u00a0Ukrainian<\/a> officials.<\/p>\n Giuliani recalled being woken by\u00a0a loud “bang” at 6 a.m. Wednesday and being greeted by seven FBI agents at his door with a search warrant.<\/p>\n “I\u00a0looked at the warrant, and I\u00a0said, ‘You know, this is\u00a0extraordinary because I offered\u00a0to give these to the government\u00a0and talk it over with them for\u00a0two years,'” he told host Tucker Carlson.<\/p>\n The agents remained in Giuliani’s apartment for nearly two hours, seizing several electronic devices, including laptops and cell phones, the former Trump attorney said.<\/p>\n “I don’t know why they have to do\u00a0this,” Giuliani said, recalling\u00a0that the agents “seemed somewhat\u00a0apologetic.”<\/p>\n “They were very, very professional and very gentlemanly.”<\/p>\n Federal authorities are investigating\u00a0whether Giuliani violated the\u00a0Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA) by failing to report his alleged activities on behalf of Ukraine to the Justice Department. Giuliani has denied any wrongdoing.<\/p>\n “The search warrant is on one single failure to file for representing a Ukrainian national or official that I never represented,” he told Tucker.<\/p>\n “I never represented a Ukrainian\u00a0national or official before the\u00a0United States government. I’ve declined it several times.\u00a0I’ve had contracts in countries\u00a0like Ukraine. In the contract is a clause that\u00a0says I will not engage in\u00a0lobbying or foreign representation.\u00a0I don’t do it because I felt it\u00a0would be too compromising.”<\/p>\n Giuliani also noted the FBI’s apparent disinterest in the electronic hard drives from Hunter Biden’s laptop, which he said technically “fall within the scope of the subpoena.”<\/p>\n “At the end of the search,\u00a0when they had taken about, I\u00a0would say, seven or eight\u00a0electronic items of mine … they weren’t taking the\u00a0three hard drives, which of\u00a0course, are electronic devices.\u00a0They just mimic the computer.\u00a0I said, ‘Well, don’t you want\u00a0these?’\u00a0And they said, ‘What are they?\u00a0I said, ‘Those are Hunter Biden’s\u00a0hard drives.\u00a0And they said ‘no, no, no.”<\/p>\n
