Controversy Erupts After Buttigieg Declares Victory; Sanders Challenges As Mayor Pete’s Links To App Company Emerge<\/h1>\n

Update (1:30 a.m. ET):\u00a0<\/strong>Controversy has broken out after\u00a0Pete Buttigieg declared victory<\/strong>\u00a0in Monday’s Iowa caucus, despite a counting fiasco caused by a new app developed by a company called, literally, Shadow.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, we don\u2019t know all the results,\u201d Buttigieg said in front of hundreds of supporters at a rally in Des Moines. \u201cBut, we know, by the time it is all said and done, Iowa you have shocked the nation. Because, by all indications, we are going on to New Hampshire victorious.\u201d<\/p>\n

Data released later in the evening by Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., reflected 40% of precincts and appeared to show Buttigieg in second place, with about 26% share of state delegate equivalents, compared to about 29% for Sanders. –CNBC<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
