COVID-19; Something Doesn&#8217;t Make Sense<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p><!--more-->By Jeff Harris<br \/>\nThe Ron Paul Institute for Peace &amp; Prosperity,<\/p>\n<p><strong>You would think that during the worst Pandemic since the 1918 Spanish Flu life insurance companies would be hedging their bets to avoid major losses from Covid-19.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I haven\u2019t written a life policy for several years so I was wondering what was going on?<\/p>\n<p><strong>I called one of the brokers I deal with that interacts with hundreds of big life insurers to get an inside look into how the Covid crisis has changed their business.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/blog_microscopic-virus.jpg?itok=zaKmUIKE\" data-image-external-href=\"\" data-image-href=\"\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/blog_microscopic-virus.jpg?itok=zaKmUIKE\" data-link-option=\"0\"><picture><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"inline-images image-style-inline-images\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/styles\/inline_image_mobile\/public\/inline-images\/blog_microscopic-virus.jpg?itok=zaKmUIKE\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"147\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"35cb0632-18b8-4052-a3eb-c87009b790ba\" data-responsive-image-style=\"inline_images\" \/><\/picture><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Imagine my surprise when she said it was pretty much business as usual!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Last year when the hysteria was just getting ramped up she did say the companies temporarily tightened up underwriting and reduced the amount of coverage they would offer.\u00a0<strong>But as time went by and the hard data came rolling in those same companies went back to business as usual<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I asked her specifically if life insurers wanted a Covid test as part of the underwriting process and she said none that she was aware of.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hmm, that\u2019s pretty interesting isn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n<p>The most lethal pandemic in decades descends on the globe with deadly mutations taking millions of innocent lives and the life insurance companies couldn\u2019t care less.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I also asked if the cost per thousand of coverage had increased due to Covid and again she said no.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rates were pretty much the same as they were before the Covid Pandemic ravaged the earth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Life Insurance companies are very risk adverse.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>They don\u2019t like losing money to unnecessary claims.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The fact they\u2019re treating Covid as a nonevent should be an indicator that something is very wrong with the whole narrative.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>___<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ronpaulinstitute.org\/archives\/peace-and-prosperity\/2021\/may\/26\/life-insurance-and-covid-19-something-doesn-t-make-sense\/\">http:\/\/www.ronpaulinstitute.org\/archives\/peace-and-prosperity\/2021\/may\/26\/life-insurance-and-covid-19-something-doesn-t-make-sense\/<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Life Insurance &amp;
