Australians who have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine can now prove their inoculation status with a digital passport for the first time, it has been announced.<\/p>\n

The official certificate \u2013 unveiled by the federal government yesterday \u2013 has a coat-of-arms hologram and includes the holder\u2019s name, date of birth and a green validity tick.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

VACCINE CERTIFICATES ARRIVE<\/h1>\n

TOTT News has been covering the increasingly likely proposition of vaccine passports in Australia since the pandemic began. See\u00a0here<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0here<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0here<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0here<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0for examples.<\/p>\n

In April,\u00a0it was reported<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0that national cabinet \u2018welcomed\u2019 the introduction of a new COVID-19 digital vaccination certificate, which will be made available through the Medicare app or myGov.<\/p>\n

This week, the plans are coming a reality.<\/p>\n

Government Services Minister Linda Reynolds\u00a0confirmed yesterday<\/strong>\u00a0the rollout of vaccine passports in Australia, in which a digital certificate will be administered to prove inoculation status.<\/p>\n

This would then allow them to travel or gain entry to certain businesses:<\/p>\n
