USA Today Reported:<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Australia\u2019s top medical officer on Monday urged countrymen who have received an\u00a0AstraZeneca<\/a>\u00a0COVID shot to \u201cnot delay\u201d getting the second dose \u2013 even though the vaccine has been linked to more deaths than COVID in Australia this year.<\/p>\n Chief Medical Officer Paul Kelly, after a National Cabinet meeting, reiterated the benefits of vaccination and encouraged Australians to stay vigilant for symptoms of\u00a0COVID-19<\/a>. He told Australia\u2019s ABC network that the benefits of the AstraZeneca vaccine in combating COVID-19 \u201cfar outweighed\u201d the risks of developing a very rare blood clotting syndrome.<\/p>\n Two women in Australia have died from the\u00a0blood clots<\/a>. The only COVID fatality this year was an 80-year-old traveler who died in April after being infected overseas and diagnosed in hotel quarantine.
