President Biden & Secretary of State Blinken <\/b>have Failed to Confront International Terrorism<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/h1>\n

In 2020,\u00a0candidate<\/i>\u00a0Joe Biden promised to \u201crally the world\u201d to fight \u201ctransnational terrorism.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yet\u00a0President<\/i>\u00a0Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken have failed to confront and impose sanction\/penalties upon Turkey and Azerbaijan for financing, arming, and deploying the most notorious jihadist terrorists\/mercenaries.<\/p>\n

These include: ISIS, the Hamza Division, Sultan Murad Brigade, Sultan Suleyman Shah Brigade, Al-Amshat Faction, Al-Nusra Front, and many more.<\/p>\n

Turkey transported\u00a0several thousand members of these organizations\u00a0<\/i>from Syria and Libya to Azerbaijan before and during last year\u2019s unprovoked Azerbaijani-Turkish invasion of Armenian-populated Artsakh\/Nagorno-Karabagh and Armenia.<\/p>\n

One hundred members of Congress<\/a>, the\u00a0European Union Parliament<\/a>, the\u00a0UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights<\/a>, the United Nations, and leaders such as French President Emmanuel Macron have condemned Azerbaijan and Turkey for this.\u00a0\u00a0International media have repeatedly\u00a0confirmed<\/a>\u00a0these terrorist organizations\u2019\u00a0participation<\/a>\u00a0against Armenians.<\/p>\n

Armenia has also submitted well-documented letters to the UN that prove the use of terrorists\/mercenaries:<\/p>\n

AMERICAN & UNITED NATIONS STATUTES \u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

The Freedom Support Act\u2019s Section 907 requires that Azeri aggression against Artsakh\/Nagorno-Karabagh result in a cutoff of U.S. military aid to Azerbaijan.\u00a0\u00a0Section 907 also says that it can be waived only to\u00a0\u201ccounter international terrorism.\u201d<\/i>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Yet President Biden and Secretary Blinken just\u00a0turned the law upside<\/i>\u00a0down by waiving 907, thus\u00a0rewarding<\/i>\u00a0Azerbaijan\u2019s aggression and support for terrorism.<\/p>\n

Azerbaijan \u2014 a 1997\u00a0signatory<\/a>\u00a0of the United Nations Convention against the Use of Mercenaries \u2014 blatantly violated it in 2020.\u00a0\u00a0In November, the\u00a0UN Working Group on Mercenaries<\/i>\u00a0accused<\/a>\u00a0Azerbaijan and Turkey of deploying the terrorist groups cited above.\u00a0\u00a0Turkey called the charges\u00a0\u201cfake news.\u201d<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0Azerbaijan denied everything.<\/p>\n

Moreover, administrations have not penalized Turkey for its\u00a0longstanding support<\/a>\u00a0for terrorist organizations.\u00a0\u00a0President Erdogan\u2019s terrorist\/mercenary contracting firm,\u00a0SADAT<\/a>, is also violating the UN\u2019s Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.<\/p>\n

Despite the above, the Biden administration (as did Trump\u2019s) has not imposed sanctions on Azerbaijan and Turkey for sponsoring jihadist terrorists\/mercenaries.<\/p>\n
