Biden\u2019s Plan to Deploy Federal Teams in Door-to-Door COVID Vaccine Campaign Sparks Backlash<\/h1>\n

The Biden administration\u2019s plan to ramp up efforts to get more Americans vaccinated against COVID by \u201cliterally knocking on doors\u201d has sparked backlash.<\/em><\/h3>\n

President Joe Biden on Tuesday\u00a0announced<\/a>\u00a0plans to ramp up the federal government\u2019s efforts to get more Americans vaccinated against COVID under a\u00a0new program<\/a>\u00a0that includes \u201cliterally knocking on doors,\u201d as Biden puts it.<\/p>\n

Speaking from the White House two days after the federal government\u00a0fell short<\/a>\u00a0of its goal of having 70% of adults get their first\u00a0COVID<\/a>\u00a0shot by July 4, Biden said:<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, please get vaccinated now. It works. It\u2019s free. And it\u2019s never been easier, and it\u2019s never been more important. Do it now \u2014 for yourself and the people you care about; for your neighborhood; for your country. It sounds corny, but it\u2019s a patriotic thing to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0data<\/a>\u00a0from the CDC, more than 67% of American adults have received at least one shot and more than 157 million are fully vaccinated.<\/p>\n

Under the new program, Biden said the White House will deploy teams of officials from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Federal Emergency Management Administration and other federal health agencies.<\/p>\n

The Biden administration developed a state, county and sub-state level\u00a0predictions map<\/a>\u00a0of hesitancy rates using the most recently available federal survey data.<\/p>\n
