Data released today by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) included 463,457 reports of injuries and deaths, across all age groups, following COVID vaccines \u2014 an increase of more than 25,000 compared with the previous week.<\/p>\n
The data comes directly from reports submitted to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System<\/a> (VAERS), the primary government-funded system for reporting adverse vaccine reactions in the U.S.<\/p>\nEvery Friday, VAERS<\/a> makes public all vaccine injury reports received as of a specified date, usually about a week prior to the release date. Reports submitted to VAERS require further investigation before a causal relationship can be confirmed.<\/p>\nData released today show that between Dec. 14, 2020 and July 9, 2021, a total of 463,457 total adverse events<\/a> were reported to VAERS, including 10,991 deaths<\/a> \u2014 an increase of 1,943 over the previous week. In the U.S., 333 million<\/a> COVID vaccine doses had been administered as of July 9. This includes<\/a>: 135 million doses of Moderna\u2019s<\/a> vaccine, 184 million doses of Pfizer<\/a> and 13 million doses of the Johnson & Johnson<\/a> (J&J) COVID vaccine.<\/p>\nOf the 10,991 deaths reported as of July 9, 22% occurred<\/a> within 48 hours of vaccination, 15% occurred <\/a>within 24 hours and 37% occurred<\/a> in people who became ill within 48 hours of being vaccinated.<\/p>\nThis week\u2019s data for 12- to 17-year-olds show:<\/p>\n
\n- 14,003<\/a> total adverse events, including 866 rated as serious<\/a> and 14 reported deaths<\/a>. Two of the nine deaths were suicides.<\/li>\n
- The most recent reported death includes a 13-year-old boy (VAERS I.D. 1431289<\/a>) with a previous history of COVID who suffered cardiac arrest and died 17 days after vaccination with Pfizer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Other reports include two 13-year-old boys<\/a> (VAERS I.D. 1406840<\/a> and 1429457<\/a>) who died two days after receiving a Pfizer vaccine, three 15-year-olds (VAERS I.D. 1187918<\/a>, 1382906<\/a> and 1242573<\/a>), three 16-year-olds (VAERS I.D. 1420630<\/a>, 1225942<\/a> and 1386841<\/a>) and three 17-year-olds (VAERS I.D. 1199455<\/a>, 1388042<\/a> and 1420762<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n- 2,040 reports<\/a> of anaphylaxis among 12- to 17-year-olds with 99% of cases.
\nattributed to Pfizer\u2019s vaccine<\/a>, 1.1% to Moderna<\/a> and 0.2% (or four cases) to J&J<\/a>.<\/li>\n- 377 reports<\/a> of myocarditis and pericarditis (heart inflammation) with 373<\/a> attributed to Pfizer\u2019s vaccine.<\/li>\n
- 65 reports<\/a> of blood clotting disorders, with 64 attributed to Pfizer<\/a> and 1 attributed to Moderna<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
This week\u2019s total VAERS data, from Dec. 14, 2020 to July 9, 2021, for all age groups combined show:<\/p>\n
\n- 23% of deaths were related to cardiac disorders.<\/li>\n
- 50% of those who died were male, 45% were female and the remaining death reports did not include gender of the deceased.<\/li>\n
- The average age<\/a> of death was 75.<\/li>\n
- As of July 9, 2,857 pregnant women<\/a> reported adverse events related to COVID vaccines, including 1072 reports of miscarriage or premature birth<\/a>.<\/li>\n
- Of the 5,049 cases of Bell\u2019s Palsy reported<\/a>, 63% were attributed to Pfizer vaccinations, 35% to Moderna vaccine and 5% to J&J.<\/li>\n
- 445 reports of Guillain-Barr\u00e9 Syndrome<\/a>, with 51% of cases attributed to Pfizer, 37% to Moderna and 17% to J&J.<\/li>\n
- 127,421 reports of anaphylaxis<\/a> with 48% of cases attributed to Pfizer\u2019s vaccine<\/a>, 45% to Moderna<\/a> and 7% to J&J<\/a>.<\/li>\n
- 9,471 reports<\/a> of blood clotting disorders. Of those, 4,998 reports<\/a> were attributed to Pfizer, 2,845 reports<\/a> to Moderna and 1,582 reports<\/a> to J&J.<\/li>\n
- 1,991 cases<\/a> of myocarditis and pericarditis with 1,336 cases<\/a> attributed to Pfizer, 599 cases<\/a> to Moderna and 52 cases<\/a> to J&J\u2019s COVID vaccine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Experts warn of \u2018huge risk\u2019 as Moderna launches COVID vaccine trials for pregnant women<\/strong><\/p>\nModerna will study its COVID vaccine<\/a> in pregnant women, according to a posting on ClinicalTrials.gov<\/a>. The observational study, expected to begin July 22, will enroll about 1,000 females over age 18 who will be studied over a 21-month period.<\/p>\nWomen who received a Moderna vaccine<\/a> during the 28 days prior to their last menstrual period, or at any time during pregnancy, are eligible.<\/p>\nThe brief summary<\/a> of the trial states the main goal is \u201cto evaluate the outcomes of pregnancy in females exposed to the Moderna<\/a> COVID-19 vaccine (mRNA-1273) during pregnancy.\u201d<\/p>\nCurrently, the CDC says<\/a> pregnant women can get a COVID vaccine<\/a>. Of these reports, 95 were serious and required hospitalization. There was one reported death.<\/p>\n
While the cause of GBS is not fully known, it often follows infection with a virus and has been linked to other vaccines<\/a>. Zook\u2019s wife, Rochelle, told the Orange County Register<\/a> her husband\u2019s health rapidly deteriorated after receiving his second dose of Pfizer\u2019s vaccine. He died Jan. 9.<\/p>\nAn autopsy report<\/a> released Wednesday found Zook\u2019s heart was severely enlarged, thicker than normal and dilated. \u201cThere is a focus of severe coronary artery disease,\u201d according to the report, which also said Zook\u2019s heart valves showed mild-to-moderate calcium deposits.<\/p>\nThe autopsy report concluded the official cause of death was \u201chypertensive and atherosclerotic heart disease<\/a> with severe cardiomegaly<\/a>[enlarged heart] and heart failure.\u201d<\/p>\nRochelle Zook said she is not convinced her husband\u2019s death is unrelated to the vaccine. He was \u201cquite healthy,\u201d she said shortly after her husband\u2019s death. Rochelle Zook preserved samples of her husband\u2019s tissue for future testing, hoping to learn more as data about vaccines emerge in years to come.<\/p>\n
Woman\u2019s sudden paralysis linked to J&J vaccine<\/strong><\/p>\nA Houston woman spent 22 days in the hospital after getting a COVID vaccine and then developing GBS, ABC 13 reported July 14<\/a>. After Jamie Walton got the J&J vaccine, she started feeling numbness and tingling in her feet and hands.<\/p>\n\u201cI know my body and I knew something wasn\u2019t right, so I kept trying to go to different doctors and I kept being told, \u2018You\u2019re dehydrated. You\u2019re fine,’\u201d Walton said. \u201cOne doctor told me I had anxiety.\u201d<\/p>\n
The otherwise healthy woman ended up paralyzed from the waist down and lost her ability to walk. Walton went to the emergency room twice and met with several doctors before her diagnosis was confirmed. She was hospitalized for 22 days, had to learn how to walk again and do other basic movements. Her case was reported to VAERS.<\/p>\n

She accumulated more than $250,000 in medical bills as a result of injuries she believes were caused by the vaccine.<\/p>\nAfter experiencing severe symptoms and neurological decline, Dressen spent months teaching herself how to walk, eat and form sentences again \u2014 all while she traveled in search of answers.<\/p>\n
Dressen, along with other people who said they were injured by vaccines but \u201crepeatedly ignored<\/a>\u201d by the medical community, participated last month in a news conference<\/a> held by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis).<\/p>\nFollowing the news conference, Johnson and Utah Sen. Mike Lee wrote a letter<\/a> to the CDC and FDA after the agencies ignored requests for assistance and answers from families injured by COVID vaccines.<\/p>\nLee and Johnson said widespread lack of acknowledgement of adverse events<\/a> following receipt of a COVID<\/a> vaccine has made it nearly impossible for some individuals to obtain the medical treatment they need, and that risks must be disclosed to the medical community and general public.<\/p>\nIn the letter, Lee and Johnson asked the FDA and CDC about the adverse events suffered during clinical trials, disclosed in the FDA\u2019s Emergency Use Authorization Memorandum for the Pfizer<\/a>, Moderna<\/a> and Johnson & Johnson<\/a> vaccines, as well as reported injuries from the U.S. AstraZeneca trial.<\/p>\nThey also asked the CDC whether it is working with physicians and researchers at the FDA, National Institutes of Health or other medical research bodies to provide the various individuals who experienced adverse effects vaccine treatment and care.<\/p>\n
130 days and counting, CDC ignores The Defender\u2019s inquiries<\/strong><\/p>\nAccording to the CDC website<\/a>, \u201cthe CDC follows up on any report of death to request additional information and learn more about what occurred and to determine whether the death was a result of the vaccine or unrelated.\u201d<\/p>\nOn March 8, The Defender<\/a> contacted the CDC with a written list of questions<\/a> about reported deaths and injuries related to COVID vaccines. We have made repeated attempts, by phone and email, to obtain a response to our questions.<\/p>\nDespite multiple phone and email communications with several people at the CDC, and despite being told that our request was in the system and that someone would respond, we have not yet received answers to any of the questions we submitted. It has been 130 days since we sent our first email to the CDC requesting information.<\/p>\n

We have made repeated attempts, by phone and email, to obtain a response to our questions.<\/p>\n Despite multiple phone and email communications with several people at the CDC, and despite being told that our request was in the system and that someone would respond, we have not yet received answers to any of the questions we submitted.
