When Dr. Anthony Fauci confidently screamed at Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)\u00a0in July<\/a>\u00a0–\u00a0calling him a liar\u00a0<\/strong>for accusing him of funding so-called “Gain-of-Function” (GoF) research in Wuhan, China to make coronaviruses more transmissible to humans, the argument ultimately faded\u00a0<\/strong>due to Fauci’s unsupported claim that the research didn’t technically fit the definition of GoF.<\/p>\n

Now, thanks to materials (here<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0here<\/a>) released through\u00a0a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit by\u00a0The Intercept<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>against the National Institutes of Health (which were\u00a0unredacted\u00a0<\/em>enough to toss Fauci under the bus<\/em>), we now know that\u00a0Fauci-funded EcoHealth Alliance,\u00a0<\/strong>a New York-based nonprofit\u00a0headed by Peter Daszak, was absolutely engaged in gain-of-function research to make chimeric SARS-based coronaviruses<\/strong>, which they confirmed\u00a0could infect human cells<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
