{"id":83986,"date":"2021-09-15T06:24:18","date_gmt":"2021-09-15T10:24:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=83986"},"modified":"2021-09-15T06:24:18","modified_gmt":"2021-09-15T10:24:18","slug":"i-will-not-enforce-vaccine-mandate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=83986","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;I Will Not Enforce Vaccine Mandate&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><strong>California County Sheriff: &#8220;I Will<br \/>\nNot Enforce Vaccine Mandate&#8221;<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>By Katabella Roberts<br \/>\nThe Epoch Times<\/p>\n<p>A Sheriff in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-california\">California<\/a>\u00a0said on Monday that<strong>\u00a0he will not force department employees or job applicants to be vaccinated against\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-covid-19\">COVID-19<\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0despite a state\u00a0public health order mandating workers in \u201chigh-risk congregate settings\u201d such as jails get\u00a0vaccinations or are tested regularly.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/High_school_student_vaccine-700x420.jpg?itok=Y21OgE2P\" data-image-external-href=\"\" data-image-href=\"\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/High_school_student_vaccine-700x420.jpg?itok=Y21OgE2P\" data-link-option=\"0\"><picture><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"inline-images image-style-inline-images\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/styles\/inline_image_mobile\/public\/inline-images\/High_school_student_vaccine-700x420.jpg?itok=Y21OgE2P\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"300\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"605df725-cf1d-4e6b-9381-673d53c7d851\" data-responsive-image-style=\"inline_images\" \/><\/picture><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"Advert_desktop__1J5vD Advert_tablet__3QEBr Advert_mobile__1rlLc Advert_placement__1I4yb Advert_align__N0_fw\">\n<aside id=\"in-content-video\" class=\"Advert_verticallySpaced__wnPy3\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/21841313772,21778456762\/zerohedge\/in_content_video_0__container__\"><\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<\/div>\n<p>In a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/watch\/?v=1589024961489358\">video podcast<\/a>\u00a0posted to the\u00a0Riverside County Sheriff\u2019s Department\u2019s Facebook page on Sept. 10,\u00a0County Sheriff Chad Bianco had previously stated that he would not be mandating new or current employees of the sheriff\u2019s department to have the COVID-19 vaccine, but maintained that he himself was \u201cnot an anti-vaxxer.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><strong>\u201cI\u2019m not anti-vax, I\u2019m anti-vax for Chad but that doesn\u2019t mean that I\u2019m anti-vax for someone else that feels they may need it, or that does need it, for high-risk categories, or even if it just makes you feel better,\u201d<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0Bianco said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cA lot of department heads, different law enforcement agencies are coming up with policies or things like that, and\u00a0as far as I\u2019m concerned, I will not mandate a vaccine for our employees, we will not make it mandatory for any new employee to be vaccinated or current ones,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cI believe that is a very personal choice and that you need to make a decision.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Following the podcast,\u00a0Bianco shared a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ChadBiancoForSheriff2022\/photos\/a.605883082803662\/4448075905251008\/\">statement<\/a>\u00a0on Sept. 13 in which he claimed that a local newspaper was set to publish a story about the podcast and an unnamed reporter had \u201ccherry-picked\u00a0statements from supposed health experts in an attempt to paint me \u2026 in a negative light.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bianco reiterated his position regarding vaccinations and what he described as \u201ctyrannical government overreach,\u201d noting that it is his constitutional duty and responsibility to protect the public. He added that the soon-to-be-published article was \u201cnothing but sensationalism trying to gain readership and further divide us as Americans.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><strong>\u201cOver the past couple of weeks, the idea of forced vaccination has caused much concern across the entire country,\u201d<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0Bianco said in Monday\u2019s statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo repeat the context of the podcast, I will not enforce the vaccine mandate on Sheriff\u2019s Department employees.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/pfizer-vial-2-600x399%20%281%29.jpg?itok=XdwXQnIi\" data-image-external-href=\"\" data-image-href=\"\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/pfizer-vial-2-600x399%20%281%29.jpg?itok=XdwXQnIi\" data-link-option=\"0\"><picture><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"inline-images image-style-inline-images\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/styles\/inline_image_mobile\/public\/inline-images\/pfizer-vial-2-600x399%20%281%29.jpg?itok=XdwXQnIi\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"404bba92-786e-4e14-894d-5ca6b6825cdb\" data-responsive-image-style=\"inline_images\" \/><\/picture><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>A vial of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine is seen in Los Angeles, Calif., on Aug. 23, 2021. As your Sheriff I have an obligation to guard your liberty and freedom,\u201d<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0he continued.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI am certainly not anti-vaccine. I am anti-vaccine for me. That decision should be made in consultation with your doctor after discussing the potential benefit and the potential negative side effects.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><strong>\u201cIt is time our government and our politicians come to the realization that the only reason they exist is because \u2018we the people\u2019 formed our government to secure the blessings of individual liberty and freedom,\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>Bianco added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The state of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdph.ca.gov\/Programs\/CID\/DCDC\/Pages\/COVID-19\/Order-of-the-State-Public-Health-Officer-Unvaccinated-Workers-In-High-Risk-Settings.aspx?TSPD_101_R0=087ed344cfab200090f91c082bbd756425c5e2aecdaf1c5f873691ec66e40d11ff8e04ad18e29ea00866a8255d14300039f8c06f8c3002617d669e2eeeac338c2d96087ff38643ed95512cf7b2835a8d1c48b1ce19d76c3b8bfd03875993827a\">California has mandated<\/a>\u00a0that those working in \u201chigh-risk congregate settings\u201d such as state and\u00a0local correctional facilities and detention centers, get vaccinated or submit to twice-a-week COVID-19 testing.
