Between early March and Septemper, as the Delta variant rapidly became the dominant strain worldwide, the ability of\u00a0Moderna’s two-dose vaccine to prevent infections dropped from 89% – 58%<\/strong>, Pfizer’s went from 87% – 45%, and\u00a0J&J’s single-dose vaccine went from 86% to just 13%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The findings<\/a>\u00a0were published Thursday in peer-reviewed\u00a0Science<\/em>.<\/p>\n That said, the vaccines’ ability to prevent death in older Americans remained somewhat robust over the same period, according to the report.<\/p>\n Among veterans\u00a065 and older<\/strong>\u00a0who were inoculated with the Moderna vaccine, those who developed a so-called breakthrough infection were\u00a076% less likely to die<\/strong>\u00a0of COVID-19 compared with unvaccinated veterans of the same age.<\/em><\/p>\n Older veterans who got the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine and subsequently experienced a breakthrough infection were\u00a070% less likely to die<\/strong>\u00a0than were their unvaccinated peers.<\/em><\/p>\n And when older vets who got a single jab of the J&J vaccine suffered a breakthrough infection, they were\u00a052% less likely to die<\/strong>\u00a0than their peers who didn\u2019t get any shots. -LA Times<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n For veterans younger than 65, Pfizer and Moderna vaccines prevented death 84% and 82% respectively, while J&J recipients were 73% less likely to die vs. their unvaccinated peers.<\/p>\n Keep in mind, of course, we’re talking about a\u00a070%+ reduction of a < 1% chance of death<\/a>\u00a0for Americans under the age of 54, 1.4% for those aged 55-64, and 2.7% for those aged between 65-74.<\/p>\n This, of course, is on top of CDC Director Rochelle Walensky acknowledging last month that the vaccines\u00a0don’t prevent transmission<\/a>.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/styles\/inline_image_mobile\/public\/inline-images\/vaccine%201_0.jpg?itok=E-n559eK\")
