Will the <i>Plandemic<\/i> ever end?<\/b>"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>New COVID variant found in France: Reason for panic or not quite yet?<\/h1>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>The spike protein of the variant known as B.1.640 has some unprecedented mutations.<\/h3>\n<p>By MAAYAN JAFFE-HOFFMAN<br \/>\nTHE JERUSALEM POST<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/482225.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-95935\" src=\"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/482225.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"822\" height=\"537\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/482225.webp 822w, https:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/482225-300x196.webp 300w, https:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/482225-768x502.webp 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 822px) 100vw, 822px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div>A new COVID variant identified in a handful of European countries is raising concerns among some health professionals because there are changes to the coronavirus spike protein that have never been seen before.<\/div>\n<div class=\"fake-br-for-article-body\"><\/div>\n<div>The variant, known either as B.1.X or B.1.640, was first reported by the French paper\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.letelegramme.fr\/coronavirus\/covid-19-un-nouveau-variant-detecte-dans-une-ecole-en-bretagne-exclusif-11-11-2021-12865617.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Le Telegramme<\/em><\/a>\u00a0after it infected 24 people at a French school in the Brittany region last month. When the variant was discovered in France, the school at which the outbreak occurred was forced to close half of its classes, Le Telegramme reported.<\/div>\n<div class=\"fake-br-for-article-body\"><\/div>\n<div>Although the situation is now under control and no cases have been found in France since October 26, the French Regional Health Agency said, the variant remains under surveillance.<\/div>\n<div class=\"fake-br-for-article-body\"><\/div>\n<div>A handful of cases were also discovered in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Scotland and Italy, although\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/breaking-news\/novel-ay42-covd-delta-variant-identified-in-11-year-old-israeli-682503\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Delta variant<\/a>\u00a0and its descendants continue to be the most dominant strains.<\/div>\n<div class=\"fake-br-for-article-body\"><\/div>\n<div>Bar-Ilan University Prof. Cyrille Cohen, who is originally from France and regularly interviews and consults with French health officials, explained that the B.1.640 variant has some unprecedented mutations. The spikes on the outer edge of the virus parti (credit: NIAID-RML\/FILE PHOTO\/HANDOUT VIA REUTERS)<\/span><\/h5>\n<div>The variant is believed to have emanated from Africa, a scenario Cohen said health experts are afraid of and that highlights the need for vaccine equality.<\/div>\n<div class=\"fake-br-for-article-body\"><\/div>\n<div>\u201cThis variant exemplifies that if you leave some of the world\u2019s population without access to vaccines, then the virus will continue to multiply and it will lead to more variants,\u201d Cohen said.<\/div>\n<div class=\"hide-for-premium\">\n<div class=\"ob-smartfeed-wrapper\">\n<div id=\"outbrain_widget_0\" class=\"OUTBRAIN\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/\/health-and-wellness\/coronavirus\/new-covid-variant-found-in-france-reason-for-panic-or-not-quite-yet-684878\" data-widget-id=\"AR_37\" data-ob-mark=\"true\" data-browser=\"chrome\" data-os=\"macintel\" data-dynload=\"\" data-idx=\"0\">\n<div class=\"ob-widget ob-feed-layout AR_37\">\n<div class=\"ob-cards\">\n<div id=\"outbrain_widget_5\" class=\"OUTBRAIN\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/\/health-and-wellness\/coronavirus\/new-covid-variant-found-in-france-reason-for-panic-or-not-quite-yet-684878\" data-widget-id=\"FMS_DC_1\" data-card-idx=\"1\" data-feed-father-idx=\"0\" data-ob-mark=\"true\" data-browser=\"chrome\" data-os=\"macintel\" data-dynload=\"\" data-idx=\"5\" data-ob-trackers=\"true\">\n<div class=\"ob-widget odb-display-layout FMS_DC_1 ob-feed-idx-0-9820-50338\">\n<div class=\"ob-pixels\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ob-widget-footer\">\n<div class=\"ob_what ob_what_resp\">A Q4 Global Forecast report published last week by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) highlighted that while mostly developed countries have successfully vaccinated large swaths of their citizens, most developing countries have made only negligible progress.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fake-br-for-article-body\"><\/div>\n<div>The report specifically highlighted the failures of Africa\u2019s vaccination drive, where as of late October only 6% of the population in African states is vaccinated against COVID.<\/div>\n<div class=\"fake-br-for-article-body\"><\/div>\n<div>\u201cThe cause of such low vaccination rates is well-known: Despite recent improvements, global production continues to lag behind demand, with developing countries facing long delays in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/health-and-wellness\/who-warns-world-could-trade-covid-for-measles-as-vaccination-declines-684607\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">accessing vaccines<\/a>,\u201d the EIU report said, adding that the World Health Organization\u2019s COVAX program has only managed to ship some 400 million doses globally and that donations from richer countries have been sparse.<\/div>\n<div class=\"fake-br-for-article-body\"><\/div>\n<div>Moreover, even if vaccines were delivered, African countries would be challenged in rolling them out, the report said \u2013 mainly for logistical reasons.<\/div>\n<div class=\"fake-br-for-article-body\"><\/div>\n<div>\u201cNot giving vaccines to these countries may seem OK in the short term,\u201d Cohen said, \u201cbut in the long term, we might have new variants that are problematic that developed in unvaccinated countries.\u201d<\/div>\n<div class=\"fake-br-for-article-body\"><\/div>\n<div>\u201cI don\u2019t want to frighten people,&#8221;
