Expectations are that the current magnetic pole shift will soon transition from strong to weak magnetic field lines where the speed of the pole shift will increase significantly. Meanwhile, as the sun’s heliosphere shrinks, more radiation and cosmic rays will penetrate through the earth’s atmosphere and deep into the earth’s mantle with probable increase in seismic events. At the same time, the earth’s magnetosphere (solar shield) continues to decline and is now reduced by about 20%. This combination greatly increases our vulnerability to consequences of strong solar mass ejections that can destroy or damage satellites, consumer and military electronics and certain unprotected mechanical systems. The overall consequences to life on Earth could be significant.
